No doubt true in theory, but I really don't notice any sign of extra effort being required to push the window up to the top in my xB2. Those channel seals are pretty loose fitting. If the window isn't fully closed or open, they actually have a tendency to rattle a little.

As I said earlier, it may well be just a matter or personal taste -- both in mounting and appearance.

So how does the Rumion window visor attach tape/channel? I am considering window visors as well. Is it worth it to spend more money on the Toyota part?

If you like the Rumion emblem on it, then yes, go for it.

If you're like me and don't want to pay a premium markup for window visors, then get the generic equivalents. They all do the same thing, only they won't say Rumion on it.

The Rumions attach via 3M tape.

The only thing that elwaylite is missing is the Rumion logo. Darn.

I wouldn't justify that much money on something as simple as window visors, so I went for the slimline ones they sell on eBay.

But one thing is for certain - vent visors are totally worth the money, no matter how much you put into it (it's entirely up to you if you would like to purchase official Rumion ones or the generic equivalents). If you want to have your windows open when you drive on the high way, the vent visors eliminate turbulence. I used to have a deafening roar that hurt my ears, but thanks to the vent visors, I can have my windows down and not endure that torment.

Its crazy how much they charge for plastic, 3m tape, and a little rumion emblem... if you are going to japan, probably cheaper to buy there and bring it back in a suitcase or something

buy a few and sell it here for more then you bought it and less then ebay and stuff :D

Haha, We'd pull the emblem off anyways!

I really like the way these look, and it's hard to believe I got a magnetbra and the visors for under $100.

well spending 300 bucks for the visors with the rumion emblem wouldnt be very smart if your just gonna pull it off! im thinking speed element now so much cheaper, and if i don't like the look sell it for like 30 bucks on craigs, and spend the extra money on the avs seamless ones :D

I've had AVS on other cars, and these $40 models fit perfectly, good and thick, so I think it's a steal.

I bought my AVS seamless vent visors from eBay also. The two sellers that have them are different than who I bought mine from, but it's the same part #894002 that I have... I luv 'em.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AVS-S...Q5fAccessories

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AVS-Auto-Ventshade-Seamless-Window-Ventvisors-894002-S-/350387908306?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2008|Make%3AScion|Model%3AxB&hash=item5194bf2ed2

The first link is $20 cheaper (when you include the shipping), but as I already said, I have no experience with either of these sellers.

If it's sand you're worried about, the closer the visor to the window the better. In channel visors sit further away from the window than the AVS seamless thus allowing more air/sand into the car. This is my 1st time using stick-on visors and I worried about them coming off but as with "any" stick-on option, prep is everything. They've been on all summer thru 100+ deg sun and no issues so far.
Plus the AVS Visors are just way too cool, wish they made them for my xB1......

I bought the set off eBay from Speed element and I am not impressed with the quality of them. From a distance they look nice, upclose they are not. Whoever cuts them did a horrible job.
