I saw a post where someone else had a different vent on theirs. Not sure if it was custom (drilled) or not, but I'm pretty sure it's on the first page of this forum section.

I'm looking for the TRD vent part# as well. I have the AEM intake and just drilled some holes through my original vent to get some air in there...doesn't look too good. I did also see that mesh style one on this site but I'm not feelin that one. The TRD vent is the one.

Some 19" Garson rims he spent way too much on so that no one would copy him.

I dunno, I have always been kinda lukewarm on them.

Spent the average amount on custom fit wheels from Japan.. it wasnt way to much.. there are wheels that cost way more.

im not cheap when it come to building cars.. you can walk into a store and buy a wheel and someone right after you roll out with the same wheel.. why becuase its easy to get..

the wheels on my ride aint wheel you can just go into a store and pick them out and bam there on your car in the same day.

there a reasons why i do certain things.. like these wheels.. is that its all about shows for me and having wheels that everyone else has just dosnt cut it in points. Plus doing the VIP style isnt putting on some sport max wheels and your VIP Style..

LIke the Intake i wouldnt normally put ths inmy car bcuase its sold by the dealership.. But i was asked to put one in to promote it. IF i had my choice a INJEN would have went into my car.

Like my other car i put wheels on to promote the comapanies that supported me.. this time around yuo wont see me change up my wheels like my last XB. becuase these wheel wernt the cheapest wheels like my other sets of wheels..

Plus IMO there are not to many gen 2 XB out there that really catches my eyes yet in which i envy..

Sorry if you dont like what i built.. but as long as im happy with my inovation its all good for me.. Not everyone will like my style of build..

Returning this thread to the TRD Cold Air Intake. . . . . ,

mine was installed this morning. Using the kit bought from Sparks, my local Scion dealer (Roger Smith and Sons) charged only $90 labor ($107 tax and "shop materials" included). Because it took nearly 3 hours while I waited, I think it might have been their first install of a TRD CAI.

Previous, I have been getting close to 30mpg between refills (actual). I suspect the trd cai will use more fuel.

Can the water go up the intake?
Any help please?

I don't think so. You would have to be in some really deep water.

Go back and look through the thread. The air inlet for the air filter housing is at the top. So it doesn't really face the vent in the body.

I'm sure it *could* happen, but I think you'd have water in the interior of your car and know you're in deep doo-doo at that point anyways. ;-)

there have been discussions about this before with other CAI, and I think the consesnsus was that if the ENTIRE inlet was COMPLETELY submerged would be the only way there would be enough suction to actually suck up a damageing amount of water into the throttle body.
And like mike said, if you are in that situation, you got other issues!
