Cxr header installed

I wish I could take that gasket off your hands but I'm sticking with the oem MLS gasket since my cast mani is very flat. The CXR turbo mani design is fine except for the use of thin 16ga 304 with no turbo bracing. Dezod uses 10 ga 304 and their log mani still cracks. I'm glad you like the CXR header. IMO, it's not hard to improve upon the oem header with it's crush-bent pipes, crushed into a small collector and restrictive cat. I'm quite certain that CXR beats Strup and W-R in hp per dollar if not bling factor and overall hp gain.

Definetly agree we will se how it holds up though. My mileage got a nice boost. Past year same driving I have seen between 25.3 to 26.8 and this last tank was 27.4 so definetly better plus I wasn't driving conservative being that I have a new engine part. Lol. I made the company sent me another gasket because the one they sent me was bent so if anyone needs one I'm thinking 5 bucks shipped.

Fred,
Since I have the borla now, a header might be a consideration. I have no interest in removing the scuba (too noisy/it allows for retained back pressure), and am wondering your thoughts on the noise level after the header?
I am VERY happy with the sound and performance after the TRD CAI and the Borla axle back, so if the header offers more power, good, but if its "more raspy", then bad.
Thanks.

W-R should net the most HP/TQ gains because of the 4-2-1 design and s-pipe followed by Strup, then CXR.

Cool, thanks. Seems like the header would be a better investment than the Unichip. I have to pick my next $500 mod careful, because I'm moving soon, and once we get into the new house, I'm gonna drop $3-4k on a new 55" Sammy LED LCD
With the header, do you think enough back-pressure is still retained? I guess the axle back really does not change it much, just speeds up flow and adds sound.
Finally, did you install the header yourself? Does not look like it'd be too hard to unbolt and bolt the new one on.
Thanks

If $500 is your limit it would be well spent on the MMW header for maximum gains. Then you could couple it with the Unichip later and get a nice solid tune for more gains. You should get cams and an intake manifold too! lol

You're welcome.

Basically frees up air flow by being larger and smoother than stock. I say just stick with the header first, you can always add the S-pipe later if you decide you want it.

Hehe, busted being lazy!
Seeing as I would not use the S pipe, and the price difference, I think the Strup header might be better for me.
CAI, axle back and header come out to pretty good power according to import tuner.

NoLimitz sells both the Strup & Weapon-R headers, and has run them both on his xB2. His impression was that the Strup was better in the high rpm range, but that the Weapon-R provided more torque and power increases in the mid-range, which is probably much more useful for a daily driver.

Here's one more really good one for the S-pipe:

I think we have officially jacked this thread enough now.

You're welcome. You'll need the front raised to reach the header to s-pipe spring bolts, use those ramps. Use a lot of wd40 and it's easier if you remove some of the heat shields from the oem header/cat. Make sure you have a 7/8", 22mm or O2 wrench. You can re-use the oem MLS mani gasket but you might want to replace it to be safe. About $35 from the dealer and the best gasket you can use. Have fun.
