Shell Nitrogen vs BP Invigorate Fuels - Results
I have both of these stations close by and have been trying to get a consistent time when I could compare mileage between the two. Last M-TH and M-TH of this week I was able to run both in my to and from work trip only (85% hwy) with comparable traffic and identical speeds (for the most part I used cruise as much as possible).
300 mile trip
60 -75 mph 85% of the time
Shell - 29.9 mpg's
BP 29.8 mpg's
Here, BP is 0.10 cents cheaper per gallon, so thatll be my choice. IMHO, both fuels return great results in the 2.4L.

Finished a second tank with BP and it still got a high 29. Seems my car likes both types of fuel in 87 form.
I just filled today, had 250 miles of spirited driving with the BP and got 27.8, so not bad.

I seriously want to know how in the hell everyone is getting high 20 MPG tanks!
IF Im lucky, I will get MAX 22MPG city and highway. And thats more highway than city driving. I really think its the Florida weather. Every car I've owned gets crappier MPG than the same car in a different state.

When I city drive, I use the gas in a way I get 2500 rpm shifts, or less (no lead footing).
I use cruise as much as possible, hwy speed is 65-75 with only a few hard acceleration passes per tank.
I have had no problem getting the higher end of mpg ratings from every vehicle I own, just have to monitor my driving style.
My commute:
72 miles round trip, 5 days per week 85% hwy, 15% city and 28.0 is easy with a little progression, 29.5 is easy if I dont drive like a speed demon.
Another reason I wont get an exhaust or intake anymore, makes me drive too fast.
