Default Valve cover deal!

I know this isn't the PPC section but this isn't really a PPC for-sale ad. I recently purchased a used valve cover so I could have it powder coated without losing the use of my car for a week. If you've ever wanted to polish, paint or powder-coat your valve cover, this is for you. For $75 I'll ship you my oem VC so that you can polish, paint ot powder coat it while still driving your car. When your new VC is done, the swap takes about an hour and you can re-use your oem rubber VC gasket.

Since a new VC costs over $200, this is a deal! All I ask is that you pass the favor along by offering your oe VC to another SL member for the same $75. Honor system.

Not really, I hit it with a dremel, power drill, with lots of attachments, and sanding blocks.

use a TC valve cover.. its all smooth already. and its alittle differant.

I gave up at the point where I realized that I needed a lot more dremel/drill attachments and that I'd have to re-polish it at least every year like every exposed metal surface on my motorcycle. It looks great but I'm more inclined to low maintenance so powder coated suits me well.

Yes the TC VC is a little different but don't use one unless you're prepared to replace all 4 coil packs for $50-100 each.

Oh, I've still got a little work to do on it. I won't need to keep polishing it, remember the pain of that with my motorcycle frames as well.

So the tC coilpacks plug right in to the xB2? I've been trying to figure this out for a little bit.

I want to powdercoat my vavle cover and run the Password JDM carbon coilpack cover.

I'm 90% certain that TC and XB2 VC's are not interchangeable. I vaguely remember someone trying it and saying that the coils were different. I looked up part #s and they are different coils but I'm not sure what the difference is.

Not yet, I still haven't finished with it, hoping to get it back on Friday and install on Saturday. In all reality it'll probably be getting passed around in the car club before moving on.

Also I had a chance to look at both an xB and tC valve covers. Everythign is the same except where the coil pack go. You can't see it properly in my pic but the coil pack towers and mounting bolt holes are about 1/2-3/4" higher than the deck for the xB where the tC is almost flush. I suspect that the coil packs are of different lengths. other than that they are the same so the tC cover wouldn't have helped with the bolt holes I shaved.

Ok this is mostly done now.

What I got back from the powdercoater.

Discovered that when you make parts without having everything there you make mistakes. Turns out the coil pack wires stick up quite a bit and the trim piece wouldn't look good on there. Also covered some more hoses with the purple Techflex and moved the alternator wiring over to show more of the vavle cover.
