Chill out. It's cuz of the crash beam. You wanna run a front mount & crash & be toast, go for it. You can easily go out & buy a Spearco/Ebay/Whatever the heck you want FMIC & fab it just so it's not a side mount.

Yes, the DESCENDANT Scion xB turbo kit includes a High-Flo Side Mount Intercooler which comes with side air ducting for maximum air flow and also allows customers to retain the OEM Crash-Bar.

The front mount looks good sitting there...but

IMO...I think less is more sometimes. I prefer our stealth little side mount that is rated at over 500WHP. The xB in the picture below owns the dyno sheets posted in the thread earlier and roams the city streets of Torrance & L.A. county EVERYDAY! Full boost, on pump gas...100% daily driver!

wait, what dyno sheets posted in the thread earlier??

I WANNA SEE DYNO SHEETS!!!

I kinda like the idea of the stealth side mount, especially since it still gets air if you open up that vent.

I still think front mount looks cooler and will definitely get better performance, but I do kinda like that side mount pictured. Well done.

I don't know why you guys are ripping on DESCENDANT-racing. You guys should be glad they're offering parts for us, cause the aftermarket for us is pretty crappy IMO. If the kit is plug and play, the materials are of good quality, and the customer service is good, then there shouldn't be any complaints from you guys. They are a business and they can't survive just by giving out free turbo kits. If you complain that it's too expensive, then you obviously shouldn't be going turbo in the first place. If you want a cheap turbo kit, go to CXRacing. You'll have a turbo that'll fail quickly, and have parts that don't fit, and no engine management included, etc.

I think it's great that Rob hasn't lashed out at some of the very inappropriate comments by some of you. Stop being cheap.

Your one to talk Cory. Your car hasen't even run since you installed your kit. Except for those few days just before it blew up.

And if Im wrong then lets see your dyno sheet.

I see the "ripping on" thats going on is just frustration. I gotta say, I'm frustrated too. I've already got a bunch of parts for my turbo already but I'm just missing a couple key parts, such as the harness.

I know coryjames already even has his turbo in and now just needs the harness, or at least something so he can get his beast tuned!

It's just a business strategy by descendant. Obviously they crunched all the numbers and figured it would be more profitable for them to only offer the harness to those who buy the turbo kit. There's still a risk involved, such as what if the competition does finally make a harness before they make their profit back? Then Descendant would have obviously lost this battle. But obiously they calculated the risk and made an educated decision to offer the harness only through their kit.

And let's be honest. The only way Descendant's gonna be able to offer us any kind of performance products is if they can remain profitable.

For me, I'm frustrated as well since I've already got parts sitting in my bedroom and to buy a whole kit now would not be worth it, but I'm happy to at least see the market moving along.

Thanks Descendant and good luck!

LOL you're not wrong. I know the story, & Cory's just bitter that he can't get a hold of Descendant's FIC for the xb2 kit.

I want one too...

My opinion, it's really good to know that there is finally a bolt on turbo kit for xB. It's also nice to know that it will be CARB exempt.

However, I probably won't be getting this kit cause $7k for a complete kit seems a little too much. CARB exempt is nice but with the cops these days, CARB exempt doesn't really seem to work.

I probably will go turbo someday but only if more options are available
