2010 Alpine Premium 100% Working in 2008 xB!
#121
Sorry for the necro but I just did this install on my '08 TC and this thread was an immense help!
Here are the parts I used:
headunit: PT545-00111
trim: PT611-21080
usb/aux jack: 86190-53040
usb wire: PT233-47100-WH
ebrake/reverse connector: 90980-11909
For the usb wire to work, I had to dremel off part of the top of the brown connector so that it would plug into the head unit.
I made a parking brake bypass cable using part 90980-11909, a pin from digikey.com that was posted earlier in this thread, some wire, and a terminal spade. The connector on the back of the head unit is 5 pins. If you are looking at the back of the head unit, the pin for the parking brake is the right most one. To ground the cable I loosened a screw on the parking brake that was holding in the wire that would send the normal ground signal. I slid the spade in on the passenger side of the screw, with the spade touching the parking brake metal.
For the video cable, I found two cables on ebay by searching for "toyota video cable". I'm not sure if ebay links are allowed, but if they aren't, I'm sorry! I bought the cable from the first link and used another cable I had to run it into the console. Looking back, the second link might have been a better choice because it comes with female to female adapters that would have been useful.

The hardest part for me was moving the pin on the c27 connector from 14 to 18. We pried up the pin lock on the connector, but we didn't know that there was a metal piece on the actual pin that was keeping the pin from sliding out. That's what the pin lock exposes so you can press that down and pull the pin out.
Anyways, thanks for all the help! Here is a pic of the final product:

Thought I would follow up with this. Finally!!! Got the camera installed and wiring done. It works as it should though I have to get used to is, having had the xB long enough I don't look at the stereo when backing up. LOL
A couple notes. The video cable that came with the camera IS long enough. I thought it might be short but it's not. Hardest part was getting the wires fished through the rear hatch, along the window. There is some type of foam piece that keep hanging up the connector. Finally got that through. The camera fits into the location of the plate light but is loose. My guess there would be a foam gasket that would seal this up. I used black RTV. Sealed and not loose. Last, make sure you turn on the camera setting in the head unit menu.Other than that, things went as planned.
Took less than 2 hours to complete. Great $25 dollar (total parts) upgrade! Thanks to the OP for all the info!
