it's not a recall from what i've heard.. it's gonna be an update to be applied to the unit

what are these major problems????? so far mine is working great...and once I get a manual on sit in the car with it I will dial it all in.

I just got back from a long weekend trip and loved the thing....worked great..Nav is a little slow, but this is my first in car, so may be normal....also sometimes routes are off with some unnecessary turns, but nothing major I found.

I still need to figure out the voice command and see if I can get it to work right

My b/f just had the AVIC-F90BT installed in my car on Friday. While it is kind of glitchy, I love it! There should be a firmware update coming soon....

I've never really liked the navigation that Pioneer uses. After hearing they are already having issues with this unit, I'm very glad I went with the Kenwood instead.

so far most of the things I have seen are not that big of a deal to me, except one...

it is slow- I can live with that
not responsive enough to touch - annoying, but livable
routes aren't super accurate - I just watch for stupid stuff, pretty obvious

the one thing so far that may make me return this is the voice command. it is the worst I have ever seen and pretty much completely useless.

I will play with it a little more, but may be returning it

Have you decided on whether to return it or not?

yep. just called crutchfield today and it is going back.... I was going between the cheaper eclipse 2210p and the kendwood.... I ordered the kenwood.. added bluetooth and ipod as well...so same features as the f900 for about the same price.....we will see how I like it

again, the voice command is absolutely useless for making calls and the way the avic does the contacts is horrible..

those were the biggest reasons I ditched it,, I could have lived with how slow and other glitches, but all combined I don't think it was worth the grand

it is in, but sitting on my table right now....went to install it when I took the avic out and looked at the extra module for bluetooth and the steering wheel controls and didn't feel like doing it then.... hopefully I will be motivated later this week.
