Well bud..... I know there is a DIY with pics on the gauges led swap... When I researched for my radio & found that the radio has SMT 1206's for leds which are even smaller than the plcc's... if you look at the DIY swap for the gauges, you'll see my post with the PLCC's along side my set of keys.. That will give you some frame of reference as to how small they really are.... So I wish you the best of luck with swapping out your radio leds, DJ......... As far as the SWC Mode button... it also has a SMT1206, but I replace them with a larger PLCC & it seems to work just fine... I know there is a descriptive DIY on the mode button removal, but no pics, I'm sad to say.. good luck, captian!!!.... PM me if you ned any assiastance... jh

Hey Frozone,

I still have the stock radio that has already had the conversion done if you want it.
Those 1206's are so bloody small it is insane!

Hey Jimmbomb,

Thank you sir! I really like it. I think the shifter plate will look awesome. I have the LED strip ready for the install, but my pieces haven't come back from Patterntek yet. They should ship by tomorrow.

Here's a pic of what's done so far though:

By the way, I like your idea for the mode button swap outs. That's pretty cool of you to do for $15.

Hey DJ,

The model number on the front is T1808. The model number from back of the deck is PT546-00080.

Good luck.

Hey Jimmbomb,

I had originally gone down to Pep Boys and purchased their LED strip for install. Then I found this one at Oznium and returned the other one:

It is from Oznium. It has encapsulated PLCC's and should be easily twice as bright as the other one that I returned. I will post a new thread once I get all my parts back and get her put back together. The waiting is killing me.

hey Flyinglow... those are the exact same lights & got from Oznium too, but I got them in white. I am going to stick those up UNDER my mirrors pointing straight down & wire them to the dome light circuit. So when I hit the remote unlock at night & the doors unlock & the dome lights go on, these lights will shine down from under the mirrors & light up the ground where you step.. BUT I cant do that till the weather warms up.. It's been below 30 degrees here for 2 months now & I aint gonna mess with frozen plastic parts till I get 60 degreees.. You got a heated garage I could rent for 4 hours?? hahha hahahh ahha.... jh
