https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=198011

Now I Used a single plcc gorillia taped to the outside of the window switch assembly AFTER I removed it from the door...... AFTER I drilled a small hole into the side of the finger well so the light would shine thru the hole & into the well.... then dropped wired it to the harness with quick disonnects & the assembly back into it hole.. The plcc's lay up agiant the inner housings & slip right in by only about a 1/8" to spare........

Same for the speakers..........
1 plcc glued INSIDE the door panel up agianst the grill FACING INWARD toward the speaker......... wire ran up & gorillia taped to the inside of the panel wired to the same place as the finger well lights.......

whadddya think???. not real bright, but loks dammn nice at night.....

Very cool sir! Nice creative and distinctive touches. Now you defintely need to do the last few. Those illuminated door sills look great too.

I will get the LED's ordered this morning. As soon as they come in, you can send me your parts. I will turn them around in less than one day. PM me with your info and we can work out the shipping details.

Hey Shasta,

Good luck on the LED swap. Here is dasaint80's write up on the gauge led swap:

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...351&highlight=

You can buy PLCC-2's from Ozium.com (you will need 18 minumum). Or you can buy a complete kit from sean@ledmod.com (he does gauge and HVAC kits).

Just check back in if you need help. Lots of guys on here have done the swaps themselves.

Hey Jimmbomb,

The LED's should be here in a few days. I will PM you when they arrive so that you can send me your parts for the swap.

Hey Jimmbomb,

I just pulled my airbag sensor board. It was a piece of cake. Just reach through the top of the glove box area and pop it out from the back. The two LED's to replace are both PLCC-2's! How stoked are you? You can have those swapped in 10 minutes.

ok, Flyinglow....... I am gonna have to wait for the weekend, though..... When I get home from work, I got about 2 hours then it bed time agian...., So ,,,
1) You say just open the glove box.. reach in there & PUSH the housing OUT towards the seats???
then
2) I reckon there is a 'wire' plug to un-plug then
3) from there, I'll be able to take the assembly inside to the kitchen''''er.... "tech" table & pull it apart??
No suprises???
Thanks for the info....... We'll see how convincing you are with your persuasion based on simplicity!!! hahhahahah wish me luck.............
There better NOT be any suprises, FL......... thanks agian.....

Well.. when he says PLCC's, that means 'solder in'... NOT a simple 'clip' in.....
The A/C controls, the way MOST of us are doing them, are a simple bulb swap with NO soldering...
The 'airbag' light (PLCC) gonna have to be soldered.....
Good luck......

Reguarding the Air Bag sensor indicator lights, He (Flyinglow) said it was an easy swap.... Well that's not entirely true, those paticular plcc's are 4 legged ones INSTEAD of the 2 legged ones. Now I yanked one & swapped it with a 2 legged one & got nothing. Flyinglow at that point told be that he'd check into it & tel me which of the 4 legs to solder to, but like I said, He WALKED & left us hanging..
& that's all the progress so far.......
So, beware taking those led's apart.
IF you get it figgured out, or replace then with 4 legged plcc's, t & have success, then please posts up results & a HOW TO..!! Thanks for asking DJ FRozone!!!!...
Man. this was a year ago.....
WOW...........
peace, bro............

You can still use PLCC2 with 2 leg and still be able to install it..
There is two method..
Using a tape or cut a small circuit trace...
