Cubby hole 6x9s
Ok so the cubby holes in the trunk on the right and left side. I have just ordered a set of 6x9s that I would like to install there. I was just wondering what have people done to install these? How they built there box and kept them in place. Just trying to get some ideas to custom make these.

The trick in making baffle boards that fit into the cubby is getting an accurate shape. Any gaps on the edges look bad and allow air in and out, reducing the speakers volume.
I do see a problem in the making, however: poor sound. 6x9 speakers are normally designed to work in a sedan with a rear deck mount. The speakers use the entire trunk as a speaker enclosure. Put a speaker designed for a big box (trunk) into a very small box (cubby space) and you'll end up poor bass output. In other words, junk sound. The best you'll get is upper mid-bass, but no low end at all, even if you force it. A better speaker size is a 5 or 6" and use them as rear fill, not as main sound. BTW, what do you have running in the front doors? They're the main sound in the system.

These are gunna be to fill out the sound. I need more mid. I have 2 pioneer 12s that are nice and loud, then I just replaced my doors with 6.5 doors 3 way pioneer speakers as well. I just need that little bit of in between. To much treble right now with 6 tweeters and only 4 mids. Mids don't keep up enough with everything else
Edit: I am just trying to get an idea of how other people did there build for these speakers.
