Here's how to install it:

TOOLS NEEDED:

  • Just your two hands

PRE INSTALL TIPS:

  • SET PARKING BRAKE!!! (for safety)

*tech note: This install took me just over 5 minutes, minus taking all the pictures. I rate the difficulty of this install a 1 on a scale of 1-10, 1 being turn the key to "ON", and 10 being professional.

STEP 1:
Open the rear hatch.

STEP 2: Remove OEM 3rd brake light.

  • Start from either the left or right side.
  • Using your hands carefully pull on the plastic housing removing it from the hatch.
  • Look at the picture to help locate the 4 plastic retainer clips holding it in place.
  • BE CAREFUL not to break the clips.

STEP 3:
Unplug the light from the harness.

  • Locate the clip and press down on it to remove. (see photo)

STEP 4:
Install new light.

  • Plug the wire into the new light.
  • Align the 4 plastic retainer clips with the holes and push the light into place until you hear the clips “snap”.
  • Check to see that all 4 clips are secure by gently pulling on the housing in those location.

I have purchased this a couple months ago and I absolutely love it!

Really looks great with my Longo LED tail lights. Plus, it makes my xB that much more visible.

I did this last night. Wow! This was easier (and less time consuming) than installing new cupholder pads and it looks awesome. Scion should pay attention and make this standard for next year. Thanks for posting.

I installed the Oznium TBL today. Wish it came in a carbon fiber option. Is it just mine or can you see gaps and mounting brackets through your rear glass also, especially in the sun?

It should. The only things they changed on the body was the bumpers. Pull your OEM one off and see if it matches the pics that I have in this thread. ;)
