Headrest DVD/monitor vs. Overhead DVD/monitor
I am in the market for a DVD player and monitor for my 09 Xb but unsure which is better:
Headrest units or an Overhead roof mount unit. Anyone with actual usage/experience with these system please post what you like/dislike about both would be appreciated.
Costco.com has a Valor set of 7" headrest DVD for $799, and a 10.2" for $699 installation included. Any opinion on these would also be welcome.
Thanks.

i have headrest monitors. when my daughter watches tv i assumed the drop-down will be seen in the rearview mirror. plus i think overall it looks much cleaner.
i think its just about preference though. either one is good

I agree with the headrest monitors. Much cleaner than a tacky flip down. Plus it's ergonomically better since the kids don't have to crank their neck to look in the middle. Plus you can't use your rear view mirror.

i have the scion dvd headrests and i love them. they look a lot cleaner than any overhead dvd unit. each screen can play it's own movie, or you can watch the same movie on both screens. the wireless headphones have 2 channels (one for each screen). plus, each screen comes with two rca audio outputs, and one rca video output for your ps3 or xb360 or whatever.
do not use 7" screens in your scion unless you have the bigger headrests. i dunno if you can even order the bigger headrests because i think they come prefabbed with the dvd screens already in them (thats what my dealer told me). 6" is the biggest you can go without it looking ridiculous.
thats with 7" screens on the regular stock headrests. it just doesn't look right, imo.
