How is the vibration/residence of the side panel? I would love to do this for a Jl 8w7 But Im not sure the panel would be up to it. the sub weights about 17lbs itself and it needs about .8 QF for a enclosure...

Which side pannel do you speak of? the 8w7 is a great sub i suggest making a false floor to have all the airspace and keep trunk space at a maximum.

check this thread for some ideas

I would love to build a sub floor just for my audio stuff but I have all the airbag stuff to put in there as well. the side panel I asking about is the same side that the OP is using. the problem with the w7 is its as deep as it is round. basicly is almost square at 8"-7". Thats a big sub to stuff somewhere.
I have 3 JL 8w3v2 in a sealed box, and I try ing to tayout my trunk. just looking at other options.

the back of the panel is well covered with edead as is the body on that side (actually the entire trunk area is done with it) but no annoying rattles or vibrations

this is how it looks now, frees up the spare compartment for the spare as the amp isnt there and I suppose you could put all the goodies for bags there

did lots of sketches, that pic is the third setup of the trunk I've done. I'm pleased with how it tirned out. I have good audio and still keep my space and my spare. Just grap a beer and sit out in back of the box staring at it, it'll come to ya
