Default Push Start BUTTON on 2nd Gen XB

I got a simple questions I was interested in doing a push start "BUTTON" on my xb. Has anyone been able to do this with the 2gen xb?

Is there a after market system similar to what Nissan and Lexus have were you don't need to insert your key? just keeping your key fob it senses your your presence which allows you to push start the vehicle?

There is no chip in the key fob like the Infinitys... But i think someone on here has done some sort of push start... Seems like a lot of work and worry for little if any gain... Plus using a key adds a little security to your car...

I havent seen anyone do a push start yet, but you can go to an audio shop and they can do a keyless remote start which might be easier and cheaper

Thanks for the info, I thought i heard a company doing an after market system that replicated the same technology as the Big dealerships. Granted that most of this Dealer Technology is already coming from some type of after market source.

What do I get if I tell you who makes the kit?

IIRC, it works exactly like the Lexus system. Just have the key fob in your pocket and it'll unlock your doors and push button start.

:D

IIRC = an abreviation for "if I recall correctly." Lol!

Flaming River makes the kit.

Also, Some Supra guys are doing a kit.

keyless remote starts you STILL have to have your key to drive the vehicle.. otherwise people would just sit in parking lots waiting for people to remote start the cars.. you have to get it.. turn ignition to the on position.. then you can put your foot on the brake to shift gears

*sigh* NOT the ones I posted above. True, that the Lexus' do still have a key (as I recall...), but it's un needed. You put the key/radio transmitter in your pocket, it unlocks the doors and you don't have to insert anything. It's a rad system.
Doors won't unlock unless you have the key/transmitter nor will the car start.
I suggest going to your local Lexus dealer and checking one out. I wouldn't believe it if I haven't played with one before.

*sigh* that's not "Remote Start"

a "Remote Start" is when you use a "remote" to "start" the car.. i know how the new lexus' work.. that's the push button start system where you don't need an actual cut key in an ignition switch to turn and start it.. i was replying to the post that said

Where did anyone say anything about "remote start"?

Keyless/remote start would be a LOT cheaper, but it's not what the OP is requesting... :D

Yeah I was not asking about remote start, I under stand the function and use of that technology. I was more interested in the smart Key /pushbutton method.

Although I did look into to Zenisis alarm system that includes tap entry and remote start.
