I've actually went over this with a buddy of mine that's an installer. He wants to do it in his tC, but it's so expensive!!! It's cool and all, but I'm not sure if it's $600 cool...
I agree, remote start, FTW. :D

Push start button can be done and it is expensive.
No matter what you either need to still put the key in or use a series of relays to turn on the ignitions and accessories. You also need to remove the steering lock mechanism.
We use rfid units which cost about $40 on that unit it sends a ground pulse when you are within 30ft of the car and another when out of range.
From that unit we install a remote start unit and on the keyfob solder those outputs to the remote start button and the lock button with resisters to bring it down to a 3volt system
This arms the alarm when 30ft away
Remote starts the vehicle when within 30ft
The remote start doesnt actually remote start the car, it turns the ignitions and acc on. So when you get into the car you can push the start button and be on your way.
(steering lock removed)
You also can use the remote start by pushing lock 3 times on the rfid and it will activate the remote start feature.
Another issue is once the vehicle is running you need latching relays connected to all the ignitions and acc wires first push cranks the starter and send the latching relays to on. 2nd push turns them all off.
Also need another relay so your foot has to be on the brake for the starter to crank.
Alot of work but a really cool thing to do. I was working on it with my pager system so I could still use my main keyfob pager when I want to.
