HVACs are screw in bulbs, no soldering needed. i was able to make my own faceplate with good quality after scanning my oem.

FYI -- There is no xB3 yet. If the xB gets the 2.5L engine, that would be an xB3.

Thanks Trevor, I'm sure your word is final say. Officially, there is no xB2. I didnt call it an xB3 but many in the community consider the changes made for the 2011 model year do warrant that tag. For the purpose of this thread it distinguishes the difference between the 3 varieties of faceplates.

Given the xB2 was barely modified (described by Scion as a "refresh"), I think your "many" is actually very few indeed. Look for a greater than maybe a .01% difference for an xB3. In the meantime, xB2.5 seems to work, but 2011 and later xB is probably the best fit for your purposes. Oh yes, in case you didn't notice, the difference between the xB1 and xB2 is major. Expect something a little more major than a small refresh for an xB3 -- a new engine and transmission would certainly qualify.

Regarding xB2 or xB3 is term we use to separate (08-10 model and 11-up models)
Yes, there isn't much difference from those two, but for our company, it's a big difference from LED lights to Custom gauge face.
We also have to show the customer, custom gauge face needs to be for different year
We are considering changing the xB3 catagory to something else....
xB2 (08-10)
xB2B (11 and up)
Still under discussion...

Our method uses soldering.
We have custom PCB with four 3-chip SMD LED that we solder them on..
It's way brighter than those LED bulb type (1-2 LED)

We can use our inserts (also select from different color)
Then we can add the custom LED module in there to make it light up bright..

Stock inserts has some yellowish color in that that, when you do white LED it doesn't come out coor white.

I'm sure your primary goal is to accurately communicate the appropriate product for your customer's vehicle. I strongly recommend keeping it as straightforward as possible, and specifying the model year range accomplishes that -- no chance of confusion. If you for some reason strongly prefer to use an "xB" designation (which will probably result in some level of confusion), xB2b communicates much better then xB3 (and is certainly more accurate). Best wishes !

Stock gauge face will be replaced with our gauge face (so it will be removed)
Our "idiot lights" aka indicator light will function just like stock.. there is no lights bleeding through like other quote quote "custom gauge face"

If you see all of our samples, you'll see that everything will light up just like stock.. no lights bleeding through, precise machine cut and gauge face does not curl.. also same thickness as OEM..
