Default Sound Deadening Material

Has anyone installed any sound deadening material into the interior of the xB2's walls? Personally, I'm trying to shoot for a super quiet interior; ideally I'm shooting for the same amount of sound going 70 on the freeway to sound like 20 on the surface streets.

1) What material did you use?
2) How much did you spend (Materials and/or labor)
3) What's the difference in noise?
4) Was it really worth it?

Taking this a step further, one could install a softer suspension as well as low noise tires.

Actually I have tried searching, I keep getting random listings. Am I using it wrong? Up in the top left corner, there's "vehicles", "forums", "features", "type search here." So, I click"type search here and type in "sound deadening," and I get a bunch of unrelated junk. I typo in "hypoallergenic" and I get the same thing. Clearly my search function is messed up or something.

I used Raamat 2 rolls (got a bit left) in my first gen. Did everywhere except above the headliner. Noticed less road noise and a big boost in bass response from my biamped JL system.

i took a look on the features and didn't find anything specific to the xb2.

and as far as searching, man, there's alot of junk. do u guys have a quick link to a DIY?

oh, and there's several different brands of sound deadening, from what you guys recall, do you know of an independent source comparing all the materials?

Seems like most of the deadening posts are Gen1.

See >>>here<<< for the Gen1 stickies. Will give an idea of the work needed and general procedures.

As looney stated, yes, its worth it!

I used DeadSkin which is a Rockford Fosgate product.

I did all 4 doors, the pillars and the complete headliner. The headliner made the biggest difference. That is so noisy in the 2nd gen. The only thing I have not done is the floor. That might be next though.

I used about 1.5 boxes of it. Then I went back in and did the actual plastic door panels and used just about the rest of it.
