hey guys, I am doing suede in my car tomorrow and i bought some orange and black suede.
I found a store in mesa called hancock fabrics that sells many types of fabrics.
I got my suede for 8 bucks a yard x 60". But there havin a big sale and everything is 30-50% off. I paid twenty bucks for 5.3 yards of fabric.
so if your lookin for a place check that place out.
Its on the NW corner of gilbert and University.
Keep an eye out cause ill be posting my suede job soon
oh and there number is 480-962-1891

Ok just sueded my steering wheel.
NOT an easy task. Very tedious, took me about 3-4 hours for both sides.
Might be suedeing the pillars tonight,
doin headliner tomorrow.
The volume button stick a little bit but im ok with that.

Id recommend against doing your headliner if its your first time... might not look right. Its very hard to get it to stretch right so you will get a lot of wrinkles. I tried to do it on my tC and had a lot of trouble. What I would do is remove the headliner and take it and the fabric to an upholstery shop and have them do it. They charged me $100 buck which is pretty good. Might be around $150 for the xB. Good luck! Pillars are pretty easy just try not to get glue on your hands as it might get on the good side of the fabric and is pretty much impossible to remove unless its already tacky.

i used micro-suede in for my headliner...... i dont like it. its nothing like suede.
my headliner was the first thing i've ever covered...... biggest PITA. it didnt come out too bad but there is one spot where i stretched too much around a curve so its not even stuck onto the headliner. its near the visor so its not too noticable

I bought mine at hancock fabrics as well here in VA. Used the woven suede stuff. I think it looks closest to the real thing than anything else until you get eyeball close and see the threads. Not sure if I'll wrap anything in the new box but we'll see. Im kind of curious to try some vinyl since it probably stretches a little easier.

Im not sure if its the exact same type and color that medullaman has.

Oh and got a solution to the cargo pillar, could just suede over it and cover the compartment.
