Well, I paid about 26k for my xB "classic". Of course it included a modified suspension, exhaust and fuel cell, as well as rear wheelchair entry. They have an 08's available for 12k over cost of the vehicle.

Well, I've been waiting for a customer to show up here at work and decided to run the numbers on this one.

If you go to Lombard Scion's dealership website you can get the prices on everything they have listed for this car (good job Lombard and way to go being compliant!).

Anyway, the eBay price is actually a bit LOWER than if you were to build this car at the dealership!

The only thing I can't price seperately is the leather and sunroof. They show that packaged with some kind of grille that this car doesn't have. If we ignore that, this car has $11,307 in mods. Add that to the $17,220 pure price they list for an automatic 2008 xB and you get...$28,527!

This is a BARGAIN!

Anyway, yeah, most folks would never build one like this immediately out of the dealership, but I've seen it happen. There is a butt for every seat folks. No doubt.

Best of luck to the new owner, whoever that winds up being!

$24,194 according to scion.com, excluding sunroof and leather seats, as well as labor. I tend to believe the pricing on this one without seeing the window sticker. And think of an IL resident buying this car with extended warrantee and maintenance package, plus tax...

$27,792
$1,000 ext warrantee (no clue if that's right - I opted out)
$1,500 maintenance
7% sales tax (est)

=

$32,412

<speechless>

The reason this is insanely stupid is not that it's overpriced for what you get (I think we've determined that it's not that out of whack), it's that if I spend $10K on options, I want them to be EXACTLY what I want...not what some cracksmoker decides to load into it.

If you don't want to pick your options, and pay for stuff someone else picks (and not get hooked up a la carte like Scion does), you might as well buy some stupid trim package on a non-Scion.

My XB2 cost 26,500 with the options I have. My wife seems to think it is worth it.

LOL @ "Pure Price"....
With all the aftermarket modifications - they can't claim Pure Price anymore...

There's a sucker out there with deep enough pockets and minimal brain potential that will be happy to fork over the cheese for that xB2 though...
