Wait, don't you drive an old-gen xB? You do realize even an automatic 2nd gen would smoke your intake'd and exhausted (did someone say pun?) first gen?

I am sure you are really maxing out the capacity on that SPEC clutch, we all know that 1.5l is a torque monster.

i'm not just intake and exhaust'ed . and i've driven the 5 speed second gen and it was slow.

and you're being a bit of a pompous jerk just so ya know.

and I notice you didn;t say anything about how indeed portly the new xB is. and you can;t really debate that it isn;t it's heavy as all heck and then some more

Well, I guess "slow" is an opinion thing; the tC is only a bit quicker.

The five speed weighs 3020, it is probably about 200 lbs heavier than I would like, but it is lighter than most of its competition.

The Mazda 3 wagon weighs 2930.
The Chevy HHR weighs 3155.
The PT Cruiser weighs 3314.
The Caliber weighs 3156.
The Element weighs 3529.

As such, I find it to be about where one would expect. Even the tC is only about 100 lbs lighter. Most of the old gen guys seem to be very concerned it is called xB since it shares almost nothing with the old car, yet they readily compare it to the old car in the few areas that it beats the new xB (mileage, price[not value, price], weight, etc). Even the tC is only about 100 lbs lighter.

And yes, I am being a jerk, because you are coming into the 2nd gen forums to bash a car you have no interest in ever owning. You might as well go to a Mustang forum and tell them what POSs they drive, and see how warm the reception is. It kinda sucks when someone comes in and speaks ill of your choice in car, hence your reaction to my comment about your car.

Ok, I'll say it, the xB2 is indeed more portly. However, to be slower with the increased torque and hp, it would have to weigh closer to 4000 lb with the same engine.

Add to the fact that there is boost on the market right now for it, and you have a killler B.

VW Rabbit (Auto)= 3040
And very close to 08 xB in most other dimensions too.
Just pointing this out as an interesting point of reference.
