1GreeKtC's xB2 repaired and all stock. Getting traded :)
So I'm on my way back from work on a slow and monsooning Sunday night. The roads are flooded and we are all doing 15mph, I'm in the middle lane assuming that the sides would be the worst to ride on.
I reach an intersection where the water is up the wazoo but I can't stop or switch lanes since there's a truck to my left and a lake to my right, so I cross it and I just hear the car acting up. At that point all I'm thinking is get out of there. So I try to speed up and gain some momentum to get out but I just make it worse, the car just starts stalling on me and pretty much comes to a complete stop.
Stuck sideways, since I was trying to at least move it out of the way to protect it from on coming traffic. Called the cops, was put on hold for 5' since everyone was on call on this sh*tstorm. Called for a tow, waited 10' then get a call from the 911 operator notifying me that it would take at least 30' to get to me since everyone is having an emergency. I cancel the call and wait for my guy to pick this car up and drop it to my mechanic.
The truck arrives I finally get out after 35' of waiting in a car that was constantly getting hit by waves that the passing cars were creating. Water up to the middle of my shin and just push the car out of the puddle. Get it situated and lifted. In the meanwhile 3 other cars get stuck on the same spot, a Saturn Ion and 2 Crown Vics (cabs).
Car is sitting at my mechanic, making just the click noise once I try to start it and nothing else, smells like water and as the tow lifted it by the way, there was a legit 30" of water flowing out of the exhaust pipes.
I consider that a total since to my knowledge no insurance company wants to deal with water damage to that extend.....any takes? Opinions? yeah....
^that's the Ion that, on the side, was pushed about 150 yards....got stuck behind me and they pulled it out....

Well it depends. Since the accident was kinda your fault/mother nature, the insurance company are gonna offer you the lowest amount possible. Recently my gf's sister totaled her Rs6 xB2. We attempted to take the nav and other small things from the car but the insurance company said no. Since they offered her a total loss compensation, they own the car. If we took removed any factory parts that came with the car, we would lessen the value of the car so they didn't let us remove anything, however. We were able to remove an aftermarket alarm that we installed on the car because it never came with the car.
Other then that, if you really wanted to keep the oem parts or the xB2 in general, you can always repurchase the car as a salvage title.

Damn man that's crazy. Ik sometimes during big storms you can get an insurance break. My buddy slipped off the road in an ion redline and because of a huge storm with multiple cars being damaged his deductible was decreased and insurance didn't penalize him by raising rates or putting him at fault.
There's hope. Good luck bro

Sorry to hear man
I actually almost had this happen to my car. We had a massive downpour and I was on the way to my work and i heard it sputter a little bit. I bout had a heartattack. Luckily I didn't suck much in. After that point tho I ordered myself a rebreather valve(I think thats what its called. The valve that sits up in the engine and opens when the intake gets wet).

As long as the puddle wasn't salt water, you should be able to just dry out any that got inside -- much like leaving your windows open in a rain storm. Waiting for more news!
