Default 1st XB Road Trip

I needed a "break-in" run for the XB at 450mi so I took the wife down to Bahia Honda State Park in the Florida Keys for some swimming, food (and a couple of beers on the beach of course). About 300 mi round trip and I averaged 30.4 mpg (measuring mi against gas). It ran great, seats weren't quite a comfortable as the Dodge Mag R/T I just traded (a touch to narrow) and the dinky gas tank sux. Just because the thing gets good milage geez, a 19 gal tank would be nice!
Other than that everything went fine, I have over 3000 MP3s on a 16gig thumb drive set to random and we hit a blinding thunderstorm on the way home on the turnpike and the car handled it better than the Mag ever did (which was suprisingly skittish in bad rain for a 4000+ lb car).
Great trip! Here's a couple of car pics I took.

x2, if I had those I wouldn't have bought aftermarket alloys.

Sounds like a good trip though, I did something similar after I bought my xB2, drove from San Diego to Monterey.

Sorry to say that small cars will never get a large gas tank, topping out at 10-12g. Figure that a 19 gal tank is nearly 2x as big as a 10 gal tank. Be a neat engineering trick to try to fit one in. Besides, that's what gas stations are for: get more gas, get more drinks, empty the trash, empty the body, get more slurpees. And, stretch the legs and back!

Lovely car, great look with the moons and dice !

I've always had 16 gal tanks (including my C-10), but I find the combination of 14 gal and the xB2 fuel efficiency works fine. Best was my 1500cc Honda Civic CVCC, ran seemingly forever on one tank !
