for me . scion clearcoat leads to scratches from just looking at it wrong
the clearcoat can be saved for the most part by using microfiber and only microfiber for washing , drying , waxing , EVERY thing that touches the paint.
as well as using a high quality polish.

BUT the real issue for me is chips

the paint itself chips more and easier than any of the 6 or 7 cars i've owned before , during and probably into the future.

How long did it take for them to put out the first RS release for the first XB. The only issue left for me is the color. Not a big fan of any of the current colors. The only colors I have seen in person are the white and the dark blue.

My brother has the orange XB1. I don't remember when it came up relative to the original release. For XB1, the only colors I liked were the RS colors.

I am going to wait and see the teal in person and depending on how it looks, I might wait to see what they come out with for the first RS.

I just checked with a local dealer and they did have a teal so I went out to take a look at lunchtime.

sorry to disapoint but Hypnotic Teal DOESN'T pop out in the sun. Its a bland color. And I was gonna get that color too.

There's a bilboard on the 405 Freeway in So Cal that shows a dark red XB. So maybe Salsa Red or similar.

The RS1 was released just before the xB hit the East Coast, yet the xB was already out in Cali for almost a year. I actually joined SL just as i put in my deposit on a BCP Nov of '03. A few months later i found out that there was an orange color coming out. The RS1 didnt hit port until late March of '04 ... where the Scion brand was on dealers lot a month earlier ( Feb '04 ). As you can see, half the country already had the xB for a year before Toyota had the press release for the RS1. Several owners traded theirs in on the left coast for the RS1.

Will Scion do a RS series for the new xB and xD ... sure they will. But they want to get them out the door first. If sales are slugish, they may rush the process. If sales are good, they may take their time and put together a nice package as a RS1. IMO it needs to be a RS1 and not a RS5 only because its a new body design. Yeah its still called a xB ... but nothing is shared between the 2 cept the Scion badge.

And going back to what i have said somewhere here on SL ... i did hear rumors that the Golden Pear that is currently on the 5 Axis xB2 would quite possibly be the first color for the release series.

BUT .... be prepared for pay for what you get in that release series. All the other RSs have sold quickly even with a high price for all the goodies. My RS was only an additional $980 ... where as some of the RS packages have tacked on almost 3 times as much in price, and havent offered nearly as much as the RS1 package has.
