Default 2008 Scion Xb Factory installed Audio Visual Navigation

I think that looks Great, I mean Detail is key
Retail is approx:$1,980.00 slightly high for a factory installed item, covered for most the warranty allows, what do you think?

Not to be disrespectful, You should use the search. This topic was covered earlier.
If you just want this in your payments, Go for It! But if you want to do yourself a favor research the unit on the web. You'll save a lot of $$$$. Even when you factor in the install.

I have to say one thing I'm kind of shocked at Scion. Almost 2 grand for unit seems like a total rip. Just my op.

My opinion, is the picture which is not shown in any post, I have here.
I agree it is expensive but something great isn't always cheap, that's why it's OEM. But then again that's why I said it's slightly high.....

Most OEM NAV units are in the 2k range. Also, the OEM look and integration is nice, even if only aesthetically on the dash. The warranty, convenience of it coming with the vehicle and financing it are also points to consider for some people. I won't pay for it, but if someone wants it, I applaud them. As long as they like it; it's their vehicle, their taste, their wallet.

I mean how do you go from a premium audio upgrade starting around $389.00 without satelite capability that looks like this:
To a almost 2 thousand dollar unit, it's kind of a major upgrade but good point....

Consider this, a lot of manufacturer's package the OEM NAV unit with "Premium Packages" etc. making it even more expensive to get. Some make you purchase a specific level of a model to even have it available as an option. Scion is making it available period. Your choice if you want it or not.
Worth it? You have to come up with your own list of pros and cons. I agree that 2k is steep and it is a major upgrade. My personal opinion? I'd wait until you can buy an aftermarket one with a kit to make it look OEM. It'll cost you less and you'll have more features. With the left over $ you can get better speakers and maybe even an amp or two.
I'm at a funny stage in life, I used to customize my vehicles quite a bit. I'm throttling back quite a bit, a wife and child will do that I suppose. I'm compromising. I'll go premium head unit to keep the stock look and add amps and better speakers utilizing the pre amp outputs they gave. That suits MY needs at this particular time.

in my opinion, I think it is easier to resell the car with factory nav then with aftermarket navigation in it. I think more people are cautious when they see a modified car.

I have an Inno which I plan on using with the Aux In. If I didn't, I might feel differently since it's just a single disc player though. At least it's not a crap BOSE (Buy Other Sound Equipment) that they're offering.
mcgong also brings up a great point, but that varies by area and niche I feel.
Example: In South Florida, OEM vs aftermarket is for the most part a moot point in the resale market. Further consider the brand niche, Scion in general has people that modify their cars as well, another thing to account for since that's your resale market.

[ At least it's not a crap BOSE (Buy Other Sound Equipment) ] that's funny, lol
but I know for a fact that a $1,200 aftermarket Nav-e isn't worth anything on resale, unless you sell the actual unit to someone who wants that particular unit, against a full fledged OEM Nav system being worth at least 1/2 when you sell it or trade it in....

Here's another thing I just read Scion is offering, & relates to what you were saying uberspeed' it's called Premium Audio w/Satellite Capability, now the Premium Audio (as shown)is $389.00 without satelite capability, but this upgrade cost $838.00, $449.00 more, maybe the New nav unit includes both the Premium Audio & the upgrade so in essence your paying $1,142 more for the screen, nav-e essentials....including installation

Yeah good point, so don't go selling off all your OEM stuff on eBay, Craig'sList or to your best bud, who's your best bud, because how cheap your selling off all your stuff to replace them with aftermarket equipment...because what are you going to replace your aftermarket equipment with at the time of sale.....
