So.. from what I'm seeing with the weight limit on the rack for the '08... a cargo box is pretty much out of the question, right? I had imagined getting one of the silver yakima ones to match my silver xB, but the box alone is pretty much the max weight. I guess I could go the cargo *bag* route if I really needed to tote 60 lbs. of stuff up there.

From what I can see... the Yakima Rack (by the way 2008 xB is on their site) says the weight limit is 165.

Looks like you're right. I just stepped through their "fit my car" tool. I was thinking of the Inno rack, I guess. I like the looks of it better, but the Yak does the job -- or at least appears to -- better with the 165 pound weight limit. I'd still love to hear from/see pics from anyone that's popped one of Yakima's skyboxes up there.

Yakima "Fit my Car" says 58" cross bars. The one n2htwlz has on looks like the right width. Anyone have INNO or Yakima racks on an 08 xB yet. I know I can run to REI or something to check out.. but it's out of my way plus i have a gift cert to amazon and i just want to verify its the right one.

Finally got my Yakima roof rack installed. Great fit. Looks pretty much like n2htwlz's in his pics. I just positioned them a little different (per Yakima Specs) so it sits more forward. Ill try to take pictures tomorrow.

I'm still debating on the fairing... anyone shed some light... do I or don't I?

get the fairing...where else are you going to put all your cool stickers?! lol

Aesthetically the fairing is pretty much the finish touch - i think the rack looks cheap without it...my .02.

You gotta get the fairing! Like hammy said, you need another spot for stickers lol. Do you have any pics yet?

For those close to Portland, OR....check out RackAttack.com. They are located next to the Civic Stadium.

Here is the best kit for the xB2. They add a factory like rail on top, no clamping.
