Default Anybody know a source for panel switches for the xB2?

I've learned the panel switch dimensions changed with the 2008 xB and xD (not sure of the tC), and would really like to find a source for dimensionally compatible switches. Anybody know of anything?

The factory lighted switch is part number, 00550-35976 and was about $12.50 a year ago. The factory non-lighted switch is part number, PT297-89013-SW I think it's about the same price. Toyota/Scion stock these.

Judging from info elsewhere, those switches do indeed fit many Toyota vehicles including the first generation Scions. However, they don't appear to fit the Highlander, xB2 or xD.

To be sure, I could install a miniswitch into a dash cutout blank, but I'd really prefer to find a selection of switches that are actually correct for the car. They have to have been out there from somewhere for some three or more three years now -- unless Toyota is manufacturing them themselves.

Your right, the numbers I posted are for the other years and won't fit the 08 and later xB's. The number of the switch from the fog light kit is 84160-12060 but my dealer wants about $53 + tax for it. I read that TRD Sparks sold then for around $39 shipped last year so if all else fails you can call them. I just did a Google search and did not find any compatible switches. It really is not a standard size switch but I am sure Toyota is not making their own so someone has to have them. I will order a new catalog from Mouser Electronics Monday and see if I can't find a match. Mouser is a great company for electronic parts. They will sell just one of something if you need it and their prices are very good. I will get back and post any information I find as soon as I can. I am wanting some of these switches too.

Exactly right. I buy wholesale from the Toyota parts dept and it took them almost 20 minutes to find the switch # cause it is only connected with the fog light kit. The only other switch they showed was the "Traction Control" button. Seems like it was a bit less, but still way too much.

I measured a switch cutout cover and the dimensions are 15/16"X1-5/16" (.9375"X1.3125";23.8mmX33.3mm). Clearly both wider and less tall than the older switches.

Spent some time earlier looking at DigiKey, and the closest cutout size I saw was 34.4mmX24.4mm. The only rocker switch the search came up with was a DPDT non-illuminated snap-in (quick disconnect contacts) that they apparently don't actually stock. Part Number A8G-107-1-24 manufactured by Omron Electronics Inc-ECB Div. I checked the manufacturer's site and it appears to have been discontinued and they don't appear to offer any other panel mount switches.
