Bike + xB

Bike + xB
I'm thinking of taking the train to work and biking from the station to my job. Other than a rack, has anyone figured out a better way than just shoving the bike in like this:
I don't think I would use a rack enough if I were to get one, although my dad still has some THULE racks left, so would I only need a fit kit?

Oh well, I just don't want to scratch things up. If it works out, I'll just get a bike locker at the stop I get off at, and then leave the bike there. Plus racks take longer to deal with.

Crank the pedals half way around from the position you have them in now and maybe bungee the upper frame to the door or to the handle above the passenger door. I think when I transported my mountain bike I turned the handle bars 90 degrees to rest on the back end of the bars on the floor with the wheel vertical and it took less length and was more stable. I think I popped the front wheel off too.

Yeah the front wheel is off. I tried the pedals in all sorts of ways and it just seems to suck. I do like biking more than running so thinking of maybe using it as a way to get some exercise.

I enjoy biking more as well. I've only had my bike in once, and biking is a lot more fun in sunny San Diego. Taking the trolley to work does help doesn't it?

Well I'm up in Oceanside so it'd be the sprinter, but I took it to school(CSUSM) and it wasn't too bad. I figure its better not spending all that money on gas, and wear and tear on my car, and better for me since I could stand to loose some weight. And of course its San Diego......

I mounted a hitch on mine and attached a rack. I didn't want a rack touching my paint and I wanted to be able to haul more that 1 bike when needed and I didn't want to risk scratching the bike or the car up dragging it in and out of it.

Someone made a mount for their front forks in an xB a while ago. He had a 2x4 or something on the floor and had something to bolt his forks to. I don't know if that'll work in an xB2 though.
I personally just take the front wheel off my mtb and stand it up in my xB.

That's what I wanted to do at first, but my seat post is too tall and I can't stand the bike up without removing my seat post every time.

Excuse me!? That's not a downgrade, Punk! JK
I put pipe insulation on the pegs, bars and pedals when I throw the 20" in.
I also get three mountain bikes in with the seats split...and that's with the wife in the front and the 6'4" kid in the back! Works for me.
I can't see the pic (blocked at work), but I bet it's ugly. You know the wheels come off with the little levers, right?
