Default Black Sand Pearl or Nautical Blue Metallic

For those of you who have seen the colors in person, which would you choose.

I am torn between the two colors. I drove the Black yesterday and thought I had decided. Today, I picked up a Blue and tried to compare it with the black, but the black car had been sold already.

To me, the black seems to pop a little more when it is not in bright sunlight.

Lemme hear some feedback !

Color choice is a very personal preference, but I can give my opinion.

I have seen a BSP and to me it does not look like a "black" car. The "Sand" part of the color gives it a Grayish Black look. Not a bad thing necessarily, just not a true black in my eyes. It seems like a very dark charcoal color to me I guess. OK but not my thing.

The NBM is interesting. On a sunny day it looks very Blue. On a more cloudy day I think it looks like a black car with a blue tint to it. I like blue cars, but this is much closer to black than blue IMO. If I could keep it clean I think I would like this color.

Of course when I saw a BCM on a cloudy day (and the car was dirty) I thought it looked like a black car with a red tint to it. :D

Personally I am looking at Super White (currently in the lead) or Classic Silver. Frankly with either I am considering some paint work to do a two tone of some sort. Either way they should be easier to keep clean than the darker colors.

That's exactly why we went with the silver this time around. We had a Blue onyx pearl 06' xB, and it looked hot as hell when it was clean, but that wasn't often enough. We decided to go with a light color this time, and I'm very glad we did. We were actually considering going with the Super White, but I've seen white cars end up with a yellowish tinge to them, so we decided silver was the best way to go!

roXor boXor, you are correct in that the BSP looks more like a dark grey instead of a black. It has a lot of flake, and that really makes the color change compared to a pure black car.

I want something a little different, and some people have told me that they have seen plenty of Gen 1 cars in Blue, does anyone have any feedback on that comment ?

Thanks

I hate black or white. Never owned black and had two white cars. Was never happy with white. I have a blue 06 xb and almost ordered the 08 in blue, but did not want 2 blue cars. I really like the silver, but took the plunge with a crushed berry to have a color I never had. Waiting for the dealer to call to tell me to come get it.

My wife insisted on white (Don't mind since my Evo is white.) We have a 05 BOP xB before. Between the 2, I prefer the blue. But if you really like the black, just have them order one up. Ours took about 1-2 weeks to get...

In my area it seems that BOP is all we see on the 1st Gen. xB.

I chose the Black Sand Pearl, the metal flakes sparkle in the sunlight... Can't go wrong, no matter which color you choose...

I read a comment somewhere that I found really interesting. They said that from about a foot away, the Blue was really striking, but as you moved away from the car, it turned into just plain old dark blue. Any comments on that and do you feel the Black does the same thing ?

When I looked at the Blue, it was late afternoon and the car had not been cleaned up very well, so I could not get a good feel on what the color did in full sun.

Thanks again for all of the responses, I really need to pick one of the 2 so I can get my car !

Out of all the colors, the Nautious Teal is my least favorite. Its only a true Teal in direct sunlight. Even under floresant lighting its grey. Its a color shift paint with out the high cost of one.
