Hey what's up everyone so yesterday i took the afternoon and did my headlights, I wanted to go for the Five Axis XB2 ( you know the gold one) i liked how the turn signals reflector and the projector ring was left chrome or reflective. It took me a while to tape up the areas that I did not want painted. My headlight lens are a little chipped from rocks, the inside is prestine though, I travel down the 57 and 10 freeways everyday, Im thinking of using a clay bar to smooth out the chips. Anyways let me know what yah think!

Good job, I like it. I may have to do something similar, I want the darker look but I don't want to sacrifice light.

Yeah i too was hesitant putting an entire headlight in the oven LOL, especially since it was my only ones.

its not bad you actually don't have the oven on when they are inside, you preheat, then turn it off, then put the lights in for about 9 min...not bad.

What temp do you preheat the oven to? I'm worried about screwing up the seal and having the headlight fog up when it gets wet (I've had that happen in previous cars)
I might do that around Christmas then ;)

I pre=heated the oven at 305 degrees, you can add a small bead of silicon right before connecting them together.

darn you beat me to it
at 1st i was planning on painting the hl gold like my car but after i really thought about i was planning on painting it black and clear the corners. at the same time i do a retrofit w/the crystal clear projector lens and remove the sqirrel finder. then install the hid. but i'm still wait on the clear corners.

that looks fantastic! i, too, am scared to bake the HL assy, but i might have to give this a try in the near future! not to thread jack, but wtf is the squirel finder and where is it located in the HL assy? if/when i do this, i'd like to get rid of the light above the cut off line of the light.

This is true you could take it entirely off or just un hook it from the top. t I found that there really is no need to take it all of just un-clip it from the side fenders and make sure the bolts are removes up top.
