Default Cabin air filter

Is the cabin air filter located behind the glove box? If so, how do you take off the glove box? Has anyone done this yet? I did a quick search and didn't find anything.

Well...since I just typed you a nice paragraph and IE decided to delete it, I will just jump to this. https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...bin+air+filter that is what us tC guys use. Hopefully your g. box is the same. When you open it you will see the two notches on the top, one on each side of the box at the top. Just push in both sides at the same time to get it past the frame of the dash. Then take off the little arm on the right hand side directly under the top notch for that side, at the bottom. With the notches past the frame and arm off you just have to give a little pull on the box and it unclips/unsnaps from the bottom part of the dash. Rather easy after the first time you figure it out. Hope you get some help from that link from the pics that are posted in there. Good luck.

Lower the glove box and then squeeze it until you can pull it out. There is a spot for the filter there. Even I can do that one!! LOL Don't buy one from the dealer. Get one from an auto parts store or search and you will get some DIY's on making filters.

Ok, so you have to squeeze it. Thanks! I thought that might be it, but didn't want to damage it. In my 02 celica GTS, there are nice little lock ***** you remove for lowering the glove box. I have been making filters from 20x30 3m allergy furnace filters for years now. I saved a couple hundred dollars or more by now!

Thanks!!!

id recommend replacing them every 15k with the air filter. they get built up with your dead skin and what not and can start to smell... and it doesnt smell good
