Converting Speedometer from Miles to Kilometres..
I've bought a 2008 Scion xB and am in the process of importing it into Canada this week. It will be the first 2008 xB in BC, I'm sure and quite possibly the first in Canada.
One question I have for existing 2008 xB owners, or those that really know the vehicle well is:
Can you convert the digital speedometer display from miles to kilometres (km)? This is something that is required in order for it to be imported and considering it is a digital display, it should be something that is easily changed.
Can someone check their owners manual for this?
Thanks!

I'm still in the import process. I just got it successfully into Canada, now I just need to pass gov't inspection. I'll keep everyone posted.
I looked through the owners manual and I can't find any info on converting the digital speedometer from miles to km. Can anyone help?!

no, I mean Speedometer, as in, when I'm driving my car, I want to know how fast or how many km per hour I'm traveling vs. miles per hour.
I don't think Scion would endorse changing the odometer in any way because it could open a door for tampering with the numbers which could lead to problems like fraud.
Thanks for making sure of this though.

Got it. It is just like I said before, and I will repeat it now.
Sit down in the drivers seat, eh !, insert the key in the ignition switch and start the car, eh. reach up with your hand, eh, and with the main odometer being displayed,eh, press the button that changes the odometer from odometer to trip a & trip b. Hold this button down, eh. You will see it change from MPH to KPH. I guarantee you this works, as I have done it several times and I just went outside and did it again. Hope this helps, eh !

Sorry for raising this post from the dead but I just want to give props to XtremeGraphics for this info... my mom has a '10 and she just changed it by accident and could not figure out how to change it back. She read the manual cover to cover but could not find the info.
Thanks again!!!
Thanks again!!!
