Yes, and I have tried every combination of switch on, switch off, switch on-then-off, gear in park, gear in not-park, etc.... the picture never comes up. All I get is sound only.
Did you make sure the red wire is grounded under the p/brake?

No I hadn't, because I didn't know what to look for... but see my last post. I just checked that and it wasn't grounded. So I just grounded it, and everything's working perfectly now.

Thanks everyone for your help!

Just got my nav unit installed by Scion yesterday. I had heard that you could not change it enroute but now there is hope. I will be doing the mod next week.

God bless
John

I have been scouring the other scion sites and this is the only one who has even a temp computer program input fix. I wonder how many of these units were sold. There has to be a permanent fix besides cutting wires and turning the unit off while you program it on the road? Any scion computer folks here?

God bless
John

I didn't do the mod myself (too afraid to mess something up), but the guy I hired was also confused by the two purple wires. He figured it out, though, thanks in part to the pictures in this thread:

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=190326

Hopefully they will help you too.

Note: the initial pics involve installing a subwoofer. Keep scrolling down a bit to see the pictures of the nav fix, which states that the correct purple wire is in the connector without the blue wire.

HTH....

Thanks. It was really nothin'. What did it take? An hour? It was good meeting you man! ...and thatnks for that Starbucks card! It'll keep me caffeinated for quite a while.

Cheers.
