Default First RS Model ?

Any estimates on when the first RS will show up for XB2 ?

Now that we have seen the car and we have the pricing and I am signed up for the demo tour, the only thing outstanding for me is when the first RS shows up.

I would really like to see what color and what options the first RS has prior to buying one.

I have waited this long. Not sure how much longer I can wait. I currently have a Toyota with 125k miles that still runs great. So based on that, I could hold out; however, I really want one of these XB2s.

One of the dealer/ sales types who hangs out here speculated that it might be next spring. Definitely nothing official out yet.
I found myself wondering if due to the spring release of the new model they might do a RS in the fall with most of the other 2008 models.
Something tells me you don't want to wait a year.

i will probably have to wait a year to get the amount of funds i want to put down on it. i want to put down at least $5000 and trade in my box car. They need some better colors though, seriously.

First Three Colors was definitly Hot! The last one Torchored Penny , Not so much!
The only thing I liked was the grill.

I hope Scion doesn't do what they did with the last Xb RS's. What I mean is they pretty much brought out a nicer model than the previsous one , except the last one which i felt was a let down from the model before it. I don't know why but I'm still scatching my head on that one. I mean I could look past teh color but teh contents just didn't measure up to the previsous model. I mean whatever is the last of the RS of gen 2 Xb's should be nicer than what comes before it.

Also Do any of you Gals and Dudes think Scion should adopt a Combo Package (like technology, luxury And Sport) models instead of RS models. Or maybe a Tuner Design packages like some manufactures have in Japan.

that won't work.... the reason why Scion does what it does is because they believe in the monospec philosophy..... no packages... it's the way Scion markets their vehicles... it's always been and will stay that way...

the "blank canvas" that you add options and accessories to.

only the limited quantities of the "spec tC" along with the RS models does Scion package something special together.

Hope they use that orange color from the Chicago Show!
I wonder if they can try a brushed stainless steel like the Delorean used in the movie Back To The Future?

You are correct, but aren't the RS's a sort of Package Deal. Each one came with a specific Equipments and colors. My thought was more like a sun & sound package (ex: sunroof + sweet radio and extra speaker/s) or tech & street package (ex: Navi + Alloy wheels). I mean all of these at additional costs but less than purchased separately.

that why i mentioned [with exception of] the limited quantities for the spec and the RS's did Scion put something together.

certain dealerships have there own special stuff they like to add outside of the typical scion accessory line... things such as leather seats.. sunroof/moonroof stuff.. etc.. stuff like that.. so in some ways you can get what you like.. just need to find a stealership that you're willing to pay..

there was no orange color.... probably thinking of the gold one?

if so, that will never come out.. it's was the color of the prototype and was made specifically to be an exclusive vehicle... that car alone is worth over half a million dollars.

and all stainless steel vehicle? uhm.... i hope you're joking..

Half a million? How do you figure? Now, it was probably really expensive (possibly half a mil) to build because it is probably one of the first handbuilt prototypes, but someone could replicate one starting with a production model for maybe $15,000, $20,000 (+cost of vehicle) at most. The custom paint is about $6000, plus springs/shocks/swaybars ($1000), wheels/tires ($1500), brakes ($1500), supercharger (I think it had one) ($4000), exhaust (MAYBE $1000), body kit ($1500), and some Scion accessories prolly about $1000 worth.

I come to about $40,000 being generous...

^^ yeah.. it was expensive mostly because of the build... forgot to mention that tidbit.. and yeah.. it was the prototype.

the items and stuff that were put onto the vehicle are obviously total up a bit less.. but still are a substantial amount.

I vote for Ultro-Violet Purple or Jasmine Orange or Melbourne Red. Any of those would be Hot for me.

No that's a whole other Question., But a great one. I think your right because they have already used 1.0 - 4.0. You know i was thinking 2.1, but that kind of silly. I think your way is much better.

I was considering waiting for the first RS because I really don't LOVE any of the colors. NBM looks like every other dark blue on the road, I hate maroon, teal is hideous, silver looks too plain and low-rent...I will end up with a white one or a black one. The way I figure, I can always trade it in for a release series if one comes out in a color I like...considering I didn't really like any of the first-gen xB's release colors, that could be quite a while.

I really wish the gold color on the show car was availible, I would pay $2k extra for it.

For those interested, here's a post from Troy of FIVEaxis describing the colors they applied to the Miami cars.
