Oh, one nice Easter Egg is that my insurance went down from the old Toaster to this one...

i have the 1st gen still but went looking at the 2nd gen. My parents want to buy my car off me and I'll possibly get this one.
I just am not to sure about the monthly payments. Right now I'm @ 250/mo on the toaster and really don't want to swing more then that for any car.
I might just not do either and get a used paid off lexus or something

Gen 1 to Gen 2 Are you glad you did?
I have one of each. 2005 RS2 with almost 100k miles, and a 2010 RS7 with 15k miles. Both have their pros and cons. Gen 1 is great for around town with tight parking. Even though we took it on a 2500 mile road trip vacation in March. Got the Gen 2 the next weekend after seeing it while having Gen 1 serviced after trip. Gen 2 better on longer trips. More comfort and quieter. Love them both for different reasons.

Some observations of my 2 Gen Box vs. well, anything else. Getting in and out of my Box is way easier than any other car I've been in (except for trucks and vans), thanks to the high roof line (does make it hard to wash tho'). Getting stuff in and out is a breeze. My friend, who is a 1Gen Box owner, likes the 2Gen interior better, along with the added safety features and it's added power. Likes his mileage better. He'd love to move up to the 2011, but money is tight.
As to comparing a V6 Blazer to any generation Box is a bit unfair. Granted, both have 4 wheels, a motor, seats and a rear door, but made for different uses and users. When deciding on getting a new vehicle, it was car vs. truck. Car won on most points (mileage, safety, ease of loading/unloading everyday items). And I do manage to haul a lot of stuff with it too: theatrical light systems, follow spots, plywood and lumber (thanks to a roof rack). It serves me very well. It's also a lot more comfortable getting in and out of when you tweak your back loading that follow spot tripod. Glad I didn't get the (lower to the ground) Matrix as planned.

There was a poll about this on the Gen 1 board. The results were not surprising. (~90%)
Not flaming here, but I have a stupid question - if y'all wanted cargo space and power...why buy a B in the first place? The boxes were well-known for being some of the most underpowered kids on the market...did you purchase it thinking you'd get used to it and then just...not?
Because I will say, I went from a V6 Blazer (which could pull trees out of the ground on a regular basis) to the toaster, and it took me a year and a half to get used to the amount of forward planning I needed to, say, merge. I still routinely rev it into the 6K mark, but I think I'm coping. Was that more or less the case for y'all?

I'm still driving my 04 1g XB (162k). If I wanted something with more power and room I wouldn't buy a 2g. No pun intended. Under powered? Let's be realistic, it's like another civic on the road. If you ask me, the 1g is under rated. It's the style and everything about the 1g that that put it on the map. Now the 2g, well it's another whole car IMHO. The 1g and the 2g comparison is like apple and oranges
I'm justing saying

Gen1 to Gen2
I have one of each and love them for different reasons. 1st Gen is great for short trips and around town. Easy to park and better gas mileage. 2nd Gen has more room and more comfortable on longer trips. My wife won't drive the 1st Gen (could be because of it being bright Yellow), but she won't hesitate to drive the 2nd Gen. If I could only have one, it would be a very hard decision.
