Default good, bad, ugly....

Purchasing another scion on Wednesday. I used to have an RS3 tC. When I had my daughter I bought a four door car, but now that she's 2 i'm ready to get another scion.... Looking at an 09 xB. Can yall tell me what is good, and what is bad?? Thanks! Can't decide between a tC or an xB.

Since you have a kid id suggest the B. just because ive take a baby in and out a baby seat from my GFs tC and my xB and the box is so much easier

I love my B. Enough room to haul my daughters spoiler and can sit back far enough to be comfortable. Great pick up and go and very stylish IMO. Wife loves it too because its very versatile (going to the beach and "picnicking" out of the hatch is easy). Wish it would get better gas mileage and that the tank wasn't as small, but those are just details that anyone can live with. Definitely recommend the B (had a stang for a long time as well as tacomas and crossovers and by far this is the most comfortable vehicle)

Good:
excellent value for the money
Rear leg room is above average
Torquey engine
Toyota reliability
Decent resale value

Bad:
rattle trap
No hwy gear hurts fuel economy if going over 65 mph
the aftermarket really never caught on compared to the tc

Been a proud owner for over 5 years and it was the best $16k I couldve spent for a new car. I would buy another if I lost my xb2.

i'm picking up a brand new '12 xb within the week so im wondering...

My 2011 XB is a rattle trap also. I have regular 16 inch tires and stock steel rims and no mods. I learned to live with it(Scion has a device installed to compensate for the rattles, its called a radio(just turn it up a few notches)

To be fair it is a compact car that is relatively inexpensive ($16,000- $21,000 out the door) so there are some compromises to be had. My Vibe(GM version of the Matrix) and a 2012 Corolla rental car I had rattles a lot also. Tis the nature of the beast. I think the windshield rattle can be fixed or made a bit better by sticking foam pads in the lower corners.

The pros way out weigh the cons in this car though so it is a good buy.

The only issues I have come to is the fact the car has a coolant smell coming from it that toyota techs verify but yet cannot find the source.

I think you will enjoy the car
