Default HID flicker and move on the road. What do i do?

So i just installed my hid kit on my 2011 xb. They flicker and move on the road like crazy. What do i do? Do i need a relay or is the hid kit bad?

Moving on the road means you didn't install them correctly. Flickering usually means a failing ballast.

Where did you get your HIDs from?

Did you keep the rubber seal on the bulbs? If you don't have that on there, it won't be a tight fit in the housing. That can cause movement of the bulbs.

where did you bolt the balast to? maybe its not tight, causing it to move and giving you a bad connection

Th bulbs are put in right and everything is connected right. The car is still and im looking at the car and the lights flicker on the road. as if i was holding the bulbs wiht my hands. I got the mod express 1.7 kit. the guy told me that i need the harness. Will this fix it?

^^^^for the few extra bucks, the relay harness is the way to go. Though I doubt your problem is related to that, it sounds like your bulbs aren't sitting tight in the housing. I had a cheap kit before that I had this problem when driving. Upgraded to a better kit, and haven't looked back. Are both headlights doing it, or just one? If it's both, then I'd lean more towards thinking it's def. the bulbs not sitting right, as having 2 bad ballasts in the same kit is pretty bad luck.

Like everyone said, try a relay harness. As for the bulbs moving, try to find a sized-up o-ring and sit that around the existing grommet, it might make the fit tighter.

I ended up getting a new hid kit locally and hooked it up and it works fine. My friend told me it must be a bad ballast but both damn! lol Thanks so much for everyones help and ideas. Now on to the next mod!

i would still recommened the relay harness as they are prone to burning the stock wiring on cars with out the harness and can cause some serious electrical damage
