a helpful way to limit brake dust and is the lazy way is just use some wheel cleaner spray before and or after washing ur wheels. i dont use wheel cleaner everytime i wash my car maybe once a month. it doesnt take off all the duct but helps limit it

I run my xB through an automated car wash every month or so (never during the winter though, unless it gets a good amount over 32 degrees. Frozen doors FTL). I vacuum it out once in a while. I already have door dings and scratches from idiots in parking lots and garages. It's not worth obsessing over it anymore. I try to keep the interior relatively clean and scratch-free though, since that's where I spend the most time.

haha speaking of which i would love to wash my car but it keeps raining every day and i'm gettin angry b/c light rains dont clean cars lol.

plus my rear looks not so great up close anyways, i took my tC badge off and then my parents found out that i was planning on doing it and freaked out, so when they went to bed i snuck out and put some 3M adhesive (sloppily) and slapped that tC back on there haha. i'll find a way to get permission to take it off then it'll all be kosher.

Dude I have the exact same problems. There are a few little dings that you wouldn't notice unless I pointed them out. But they make me not always want to wash it.

And my mom wasn't happy with me putting Konigs on and she hasn't noticed I got it lowered yet either. I want to debadge the rear and remove the wiper but I don't want to argue about it!

Yeah mom has a really nice tC RS4 but I wouldn't want one, it feels way too heavy to drive.

And it gets cleaned at least once a week, its spotless.

About 45 minutes once a week for a driveway hand wash, vacuuming, wipe down the interior and spritz the tires. I've been doing this for so long that I've got it down to a science. Clean-up after a road trip can take up to an hour and a half to get all the bugs, grease and road grime off.

I'm also a big fan of Eagle 1 Wax As You Dry. Used to wax the fleet four times a year. Now just do it once a year thanks to WAYD. Clean the inside of the rims/tires once a year when the winter wheels come off and the summer wheels go on.

ya i wash my xb with Eagle 1 Nanowash & wax car wash soap, and then I use Eagle 1 wax as u dry, and I use Eagle 1 wipe and shine detailing spray. The stuff works really good i like it.

it typically takes me 2-3 hrs because i take my time and sometimes i tend to do the things twice just to make sure i didnt miss a stop..however since its winter right now in chicago i havent washed or cleaned the car in about 3 weeks and when i do i will probably get it done int 30 minutes lol

Another big factor is what color your xB is. Silver is probably the easiest to care for, and although black looks great when it's clean it doesn't last long and takes a lot more effort.

The Eagle 1 Wax as U Dry is pretty good stuff and easy to use. When my bottle ran out, I started trying Britemax #65 Spray and Shine. I like it a bit better, and it seems to repel dust and finger prints easier.

For washing and spray detailing, I usually take an hour....it is therapeutic for me. Twice a year I plan on using Klasse All-in-One.

My pet peeve is the water that stays in the sideview mirror housings....and how it drips out after I dry the car and drive it.....so I carry a microfiber towel with me on a the first drive after a wash.

Ya after I rinse off my car i'll drive it down the street and back. Which helps get the water out of the wheels, mirror housings, gas door, and all the little knick and cranies

I used to do that a while ago until a friend mentioned about the dust/dirt getting trapped in the water drops and hurting the car's finish when drying it.

Probably not a big deal, but it put some paranoia in me, and I don't see detail shops doing that....so I stopped.

I used to occasionally use a leaf blower to get the water out of the cracks and crevices. Have also used a shop vac for this, but not so much with the xB because it's not really an issue with the Classic Silver.
