Default Just bought 09 XB SuperWhite!

Well guys, ive been a member of the board since Feb 07 with dreams of one day owning a tC... When the new xB came out i knew i had to have it! I have to say, i LOVE mi "Caja China"!

I will post pics tomorrow!

Its an 09 SuperWhite XB with premium radio (no Nav), auto and floormats were the only options i could afford...

I eventually plan on slapping on some alloys and ditching the steelies but for now they will do!

Hopefully within the next year and a half i will have

Hid's 4300k
Darker tints
Ram air intake
TRD bumper vent (Anyone have a stock #?)
TRD rear sway
TRD Strut bar
Squash freshener (once the new car smells is gone ofcourse )

I am planning on keeping the car clean, no huge mods that will put me out their, just subtle tasteful upgrades to an already great vehicle!

Now for some questions from the pros!

Out of my two suspension mods, which one yields the best results? Sway or Strut bar?

4300K HID's match BMW/MERC/AUDI lights best right?

How do i turn off that seatbelt buzzer? My dad refuses to wear his belt and i hate waiting for the sound to go away...

Are these cars easy to steal? Im not asking for a writeup on how to steal an xB, but are they equipped with a factory immobilizer or something?

Hopefully this is the beginning of a long happy relationship haha!

If your looking to keep cost low while modding your xb I would go for the strut bar. If your willing to spend the money your best bet would be to save some money and buy a sway bar set.

The 2nd gen xb does have "alot" of body roll. I have the Hotchkis stage 1 vts kit installed on mine. It comes with front & rear sway bars and lowering springs. I bought it for $535 but I live in Cali and I just went and picked it up w/ out shipping cost. I also have the Tanabe strut bar which goes for $108.

I would stay away from trd. Highly overpriced and aftermarket products are lighter and stronger than trd. Unless your trying to keep it under warranty and buy from your dealership than by all means do so.

But check mine out.

The single best mod you can do for handling and ride quality is a set of lowering springs. They will help handling by lowering the center of gravity, reducing body roll and that "tippy" feeling on curves. The Tanabe NF210's I have are a mild drop that closes up the tire/fender gap, gets rid of the jacked up rear end, and rides more comfortably than the stock springs. I'd say get springs first, then go for sways and the strut bar later.

4300k HIDs are what will give you the most light for your $$ and are almost pure white. 5000k is the closest to European HIDs with that blue tint that it seems like you're looking for, but they're not quite as bright as 4300k.

Tell your Dad to grow up & buckle up; he might live longer.

There's no immobilizer on the xB. Make sure you have really good insurance, and get an aftermarket alarm system if you want.

Congrats on your new xB, welcome to the family, and let the modding begin!

I too WAS going to get a tC, but after i saw the new xB i was hooked... Springs are a must, then sways, and then strut bar to finish up the suspension... Like Cionide said check what ur insurance company will cover if stolen... Get it in writing if you can...

Update, xB is no longer all stock I bought a rubber plug to cover the intake silencer! Tints on Friday and i added my own little artistic touch to the inside last night!

Can someone help me decide between 4300k 5000k and 6000K?

What looks most bmw/merc ish? i hate BLUE HID"S i want something that looks oem and BRIGHT!

6000k is very blue.
5000k is closest to European headlights, but still has a definite blue tint.
4300k is almost pure white, and is the brightest.

4300k is what you want.

make sure to keep it waxed! otherwise you'll be kicking yourself when you see little spots in the paint.

i got it at a local hardware store... Im not too sure of the size, go to a home depot and get a piece of round wood, just cut it to size and paint it black.

I didnt notice much of a difference, i just put the factory piece back on.

Ive got orange dots on my paint!!!!!!! Why does this happen?!?!?! Agh..... Wax, what kind??? do they not come off or something?
