Default Just noticed something about my back wiper?

I just noticed if I use the wiper, it seems to stop "high" and eventually bump itself down into its "default" position. I dunno if its always been like that, but I just noticed it when I picked it up from service (for seatbelt bearing) and the wiper was in my view out the back window. So was is it made like this? If you use it, does it stop higher and eventually make its way back down?

Im prob just **** and am noticing stuff for no reason, but it just seemed weird I guess.

Anybody else notice this or does your wiper immediately return to lowest position?

I've never even turned my rear wiper on. I dont like the inevitable rainbow-arc scratches rear wipers (and front for that matter) leave on glass. Using a rear wiper only seems to later mean you HAVE to since the water will bead up on the area that the wiper blade passes over.

it is probably just a timer so the wiper engine doesn't burn itself out, i mean, your rear window shouldn't need to wipe itself that much.

Yeah I don't use it much unless its raining and all over the roads you get that mist that builds on the windows, I only use it then. Pretty rare.

I just noticed it and thought it was weird and wanted to make sure nothing was up, again like I said, just paranoid ;)

I used mine the other day when it rained and it was perfectly smooth. No stopping high then dropping down so i would get that checked on if it bugs you.

This is normal. If you turn it off mid swing it won't always go completely down, similar to how front wipers work when you turn the car off if their still on, that's all.

I thought it may be but it seems to move sloooooowww. Front wiper will rest and then move quickly into position, this stops high (it seems) and over the course of a minute or two slide back down. It doesn't seem right, but if anything ill bring it up when I do my service and get my alloys

Rear wiper blades (in all cars) are especially susceptible to deterioration due to dirt and smog. As the rubber deteriorates it gets tacky and can stick on the glass.
