MobileHID 5000K kit installed (UPDATE: night shots up)
Ordered 5000K HID conversion kit from MobileHID.com during Friday's sale ($125 for the kit). Came today via USPS Priority Mail. The ballast is TINY in the new kit, made for a really clean install. Now I'm just waiting for nightfall to see how they look.
A note for fellow xB-ers looking at ordering from MobileHID:
You'll need to use the headlight hardness adapter for your headlights ;-) I'm glad i tested everything before i put the bulbs in.
Also, you'll notice in the 4th picture from the top, my neighbor also has a SW xB, he got it about 2 months after I got mine...

It was a perfect night to take pics: foggy
One the side of the road:
You can see the separation of light for the main beam & the squirrel finder beam
In the main beam
In the squirrel finder (the pictures shows the main beam and the squirrel finder to be the same brightness, but the squirrel finder area is about half as bright, but still very annoying for oncoming drivers.)
Decent cutoff, except for the squirrel finders (3 ft away)
Again, pretty decent at 10 ft. You can see that the squirrel finders are much dimmer than the main beam here
Over both beams
In squirrel finder beam
In main beam
I'm going to have to bake open my headlights sooner or later to get rid of the annoying squirrel beam, I'm sure it's blinding to other drivers (thought I haven't been flashed). Maybe i'll paint the inside of headlights at the same time ;)

Ive seen many blue, purple and other unnatural colors from hid as to why I went with 4300 for mines, so it looks oem. I like the super white color of the new corvette, but they are 4100k, not 43.
I currently have 3000k for my highs and man, they make it look like daylight when driven with a 50 watt ballast.
Going from 05's with 6000k to 08's with 5000k was a HUGE improvement. Going from 08's w/ 5000K to OEMs with 4300K was another HUGE improvement. From here on out, I will never buy anything other than 4300K.

That's how my 5000k looked when I first got them, but after a year they have colorshifted quite bad (and lumens has really decreased). I need to upgrade to some 4300k bulbs soon.

Mine have more color than they did when they were new, but nothing extreme. The cutoff will create the color for you, that's why I feel like I should have just bought 4300K in the first place. Mine have a slight purple hue to them. They look like they're stock HIDs.
This is the closest I've been able to get the actual color of the HIDs. Fogs are stock halogen bulbs.

That's not how mine are, mine are still white on the ground. I've had them for about 9 months, and I never turn them off. Maybe you got a bad set...?[/quote]
Here's the funny thing, if I'm driving down a road that is completely dark AND the concrete is a very "light gray" color, the light is still a pure white color and visibility is really good. If I'm driving down a road that has black tar over it, the light looks REALLY blue. It literally looks like I have 8k hids and visibility sucks.
Not sure if that makes any sense....

You shouldn't. As long as the projectors are aimed properly, they will stay stock looking. The projectors are pretty much a failsafe in terms of HIDs. The projectors themselves will create color, that's why things like Audi's and Acura's make so much color with 4300K HIDs.
