Default My Gen 2

hey guys. i thought i would photo dump the latest progress on my car. i havent really done a build WIP so here it is AS IS. im thinkin about callin my car 128 BPM. and gettin a vanity plate. anyway pics:

-------

well before the bottom pics ill share these: these are my headlights and vent lights.

heres a nice photo shoot i did of it today with my club leader and fwendz.

well anyway ive done alot of work on the car after lots of hard work at work:

first i got my JDM taillights. got a good deal on them, work ok, look awesome!!!

i also got some licence plate LEDs thanks BBZero!!!!

and i also did some INTERIOR WORK!!! thanks to my friends in scikotics for the help! painted with a color i could only find in Enamel Engine block. the pieces were first primed with plastic primer and then painted with the enamel very lightly with short burst from a heat gun. i may go back and clear coat it. probably smart but i dunno:

and yes i also got a WINK MIRROR!!! with inside ALSO painted to match the interior:

-------------------

i also have the billet series of grills from grillcraft coming in the mail as well as the JDM knock off window visors. cant wait to get those on. i also have the 10 antivandal switches on their way as well. so ill get those mounted and pre wired for plug and play and then its all interior lighting from there. i cant wait. im so excited.

so let me know what you guys think!

hey man. the wink mirror worked great. me and a friend cut some aluminum strips, drilled a hole and then bent them. ill post up more pics later. but we attached it to the windshield with industrial strength double sided tape. i also painted them green for cosmetic purposes. but the sun visors can still be used. you just have to pull them out and then put them down. they cant fold down unless you pull the side out.

so yeah found the holes behind the rear badge btw

so i have several options here and i really need some input.

A: vinyl decal. (thinking future rust problems, bit could go black and have it somewhat invisible or do some sort of design)
B: custom emblem (kinda wanted a shaved look though, but deffinately pndering this)
C: have body shop bondo in holes and touch up paint. (may be costly)

so what do you guys think?

My solution to the emblem holes was this.
I added an emblem which successfully covered one of them, butfor the other, i took a piece of dynamat i had laying around, left it in the hot sun to soften up and filled the hole.
Then i took my touch up brush and dabbed it to match the car. Cant even tell. Nobody is going to notice. Especially with your color. GL

hey heres the picture of my wink mirror mounting solution. like i said its nothing fancy but this works the best IMO.

its just a piece of 1/16" thick aluminum strip bent at a 90 degree angle with a hole drilled in it. both brackets are identical as well. you can see how it mounts. then to attach to the window, its industrial strength 3m double sided tape. this mirror isnt going ANYWHERE! now i dont mind how it looks from the outside but im still going to put a small strip of black vinyl on the outside. 2" down from the top of the windshield all the way accross. it will cover up the mounting brackets from the outside.

also heres some pics of the switches lit up.

im going to put 6 of them next to my mirror controlls in a 3 X 2 orientation

then the other four i will put on my shifter plate as far down as possible. these i will keep for: fog lights, high beam flash revenge strobe, interior laser and interior fiber optic headliner.

the other six will be various things. i am going to solder long leads on the switchs and attach JST quick connectors to the leads and color code them. and then mount them. ill feed the all the wires under the dash and bunch them together. that way when im ready to plug stuff in i wont have to undo the dash much. just wire a clip connecter on the positive wire of whatever im wiring to and wire it to power then just plug it into one of the switches and there ya go. switch.

i have yet to figure out how to wire all this. im thinking wiring to the fuse box. i dont really want to wire it straight to the battery. plus if i do the fuse box ill have some sort of protection from surges.
