Hey all, i just bought a 2008 scion xB and love it so far. Im wanting to purchase an exhaust system for it and im having a hard time finding one. I know a lot of the brands but i havent heard anything in person. I want something with a deep sound and aggressive. I was thinking injen or HKS but since yall are more experienced, yall tell me. any info will help. thanks

not too much options available right now.. I know Tanabe already R&D'd for the 08 xBs and Borla has one too.

You can always get universal mufflers and do a custom exhaust

 

be patient and before you know it there will be more exhausts then you can shake a stick at.

but since it uses the same engine as the tc, the exhaust notes should be comparable.

question for ya. when you are driving on the highway say 70 is it like raging loud and annoying, or is it more like a quiet hum, my old xB had a magnaflow exhaust and going 70 it was LOUD, then at 70 in my old xb i was at like 4,500 rpm's BTW happy bday

 

trd exhaust (on the tc) seems to get nice and quiet once your at cruising speed.

 

Ive seen that video on youtube. I was going to get the trd from the factory but i didnt think it would be all that good. I think im gonna go with a universal and custom fit mine. Ill just go to a muffler shop and have them do it. But i think im going to go with HKS or DC sport exhaust.

 

i have the hks and its mostly quiet, then it gets loud when u gas it. i have the weapon r headers and hks intake.

 

Do you have a full cat-back or axel-back? I didn't even know we had a header avail yet. Did you modify a tc one?

 

Yeah its mostly quiet when your going 70,I thats why I like TRD exhaust, it adds a nice tone, i didnt want a loud exhuast thats why i went with TRD.

 

The Strup exhaust will be out in a couple months. They are building and testing it now.

 

i have the hks intake, it's a short ram, just the filter that connects to your stock tubing. It's pretty good, i might get the weapon r dragon intake when it gets to the end of it's time...My headers are the weapon r 4-2-1 headers, i lost my low end torque, very noticeable, but on the freeway, i got more power now. It was a summa_____ to install, took 2 weeks, 1 week i failed, the next week i had help, we got it installed with the wrong tools. lol. I have the hks exhaust with built in silencer. I like it, it doesn't have that subaru growl, but if you've heard of a 350z, then it sounds just about like that. With the headers the exhaust note got deeper. I want to get a down pipe, but it might be illegal....I don't know if this is a full setup or not, i don't trust my car with ANY mechanic, except the DIY master myself. lol.

 

also, i didn't realize you guys were talking about the xb2, i have the xb1....retard!!!!
