25, not a big fan of the gen-y label they put with the xb2, but whatever, I can see it being that way a bit as I'm on that outer-threshold of it I guess. As stated, and apparent, most of us hit that median age around 30.

It's a car... point A to point B (but in style). Why should any of us care what people think...It's a CAR.... ya know? What's going to happen if you are 45 and driving a Scion? You going to get ridiculed by the masses? Banned from the streets? Come on now....
If i went by social norms, I guess here's what i should be driving...
Since im in my 30s i should be driving a Honda Accord or something.
Then when im in my 40s.. i should get a suburban or something in order to fit all my kids
Then 50s i should get a ferrari due to my midlife crises.
Then 60s... oooh baby.. its Cadillac time! HA!
70s and up... well i hope by then i can still drive
Like I said before.... it doesn't matter. No im not bitter.. just trying to make sure everyone understand .. it just doesnt matter!

Oh, it's not that I'm stating my apprehension based on age requirements and social norms. I'm just not a big fan of these things being marketed exclusively, as they literally are, towards generation-y aka the entitlement generation - the generation of kids who will live in their parents basements for several years too many, have college paid for, expect allowances, etc., etc. and still drive the 'coolest'/'hippest' thing on the road. I guess the term generation y just leaves a bad taste in my mouth, and I've seen it on a lot of scion marketing, and in lots of reviews.

I totally agree with you... there is something to say about how these cars can be marketed towards Techies and Modders... but not all of those people are Gen-Y... So I agree, why base marketing on Age Groups?
Ok I think i/we have killed the subject... I cont care how old you are... go buy a SCION!

I' 46, married and have a 8 year old. I purchased this car for a new business that I'm starting. I wanted a car that could be used for both passengers and or product. I also wanted a car that was fun to drive and got pretty good mileage.

22 with a girlfriend.. i guess i fall into the demographic? considering i had a 2003 toyota matrix prior.. i like the fact it was similar in style and usage (cargo space, big backseat, small suv style) to my previous car.

33 w/ 2 kids. Drove a Focus ZX5 before this. Although the whole Scion line is marketed to a real young crowd, once you get past that you see they are great cars at a good price. My xb is very practical, lots of cargo space, room for 4 adults without being squished. Plus even stock, its a good looking car. Nuthin wrong with that, no matter how old you are.

33, married with one kid.
My local dealer told me they have done some mods including a lowering kit on a Gen 1 for a 70 some year old guy. A lady at my work just bought an '08 also in Silver and I am guessing she is 50ish.

I just got moved from Toyota sales to Scion sales at the dealership I work for. I love it because the cars sell themselves and I get to meet a cooler crowd! I am consistently selling Scions to customers well beyond the targeted range who just recognize a good value. Often they look at the Camry (too pricey) or Corolla ( not many safety features for the price) and swing to the quirky but feature-heavy Scions. I just sold a 2nd gen box to a 67 yr old lady and an xD to a 72 yr old and they love their new cars so much! I'm glad to see it, and I think it's great that the vehicle crosses that border so easily. I would say my split here in Jacksonville is 50-50. Half meet the demographic and half don't.

Im 19.
I was not looking into Scion though originally and just "stumbled" onto the lot. I was looking at Honda CRV, Accord, etc... But I decided to stop on the Toyota/Scion lot and saw a few nice cars. Tried the Tc and the other one (replacement of aB?), but both too small, yet fun. So I asked the guy if they had any of the "box cars" ( due to me not knowing ANYTHING about them), and he pointed at the new model in the corner which I saw, but it never clicked since it looked so different. When I sat down inside I fell in love!
Let's just say after the test drive, that was the car for me. Told my dad and we bought it a few days later, and picked it up two days after that!
Comfort wise, I'm 6'7" and most cars do not hold me well. My legs are usually uncomfortable and head room is an issue. In the xB, I feel small! I have over 6" of headroom, don't have to sit in the backseat to obtain it either (I like to sit upright like normal people ;) ) It's very roomy for me, and in general so it appealed to me greatly, which is why I wanted it! Plus all the features, price, and coolness of it!
My only gripe is the center counsel hogging some of my right leg room, but it's nothing compared to most other cars. My leg doesn't strain or anything so it never bothers me, still VERY comfortable. Maybe just a "little' thinner and we would be set!
But yeah, that's my story! No plans to mod and no real money to, haha. If anything ill add some wheels in the future, but not much else. Im happy how it is stock! Cept I had to add fog-lights of course!
