I'm about to do get my 1st oil change done, Ironically a frined of mine just came over to show me thier new xB they picked up last night, and the dealership had a 3k oil change sticker on it.
LOL

Cory, I also do not know the oil change requirements for the xB, however I do know that I will probably take it to the dealership, so that there is always a record.

If he was being an A-Hole, he would of typed in all caps or ended the sentence in an exclamation mark or he would of said....."Use the SEARCH" button.

And it would've been easier to look in your owners manual, but looking at your reply I figured out that you must be a COMPLETE IMMATURE IDIOT that doesn't know how to look up something this easy. If you're gonna respond with comments like you did, maybe you need to stay off this MATURE site! MORON!!!!!

First, I think coryjames owes vc-17 an apology. His answer to your question was the appropriate one. The manual has all kinds of wonderful information, like the exact amount of oil & grade, lets not forget the grade.
Sometimes its better to discover the information for yourself than being told, & never knowing if that was the right answer.

Are you guys sure on 4? I can swear I read 4.2, or 4.5 with a filter change, in my owners manual. 4.5 gets it to the top of my dipstick for me.

I've done two oil changes already & both times I put 4. Checked the dipstick (after wiping it first) and its at the very top of full. Also just kinda off-topic when I've checked the dipstick every so often, its also in the same place. No oil-consumption, thumbs up to the 2-az motor

Some of use has had bad experiences with dealership either damaging our cars or even not actually performing the work. OR... Having to leave my car at dealer for 3hrs when I can do it in 10 - 15 mins. I was planning on taking advantage of the free oil changes but after getting some goodies on the box, I don think I'll trust anybody yet with my XB

on another note my oil filter was on so tight it wouldn't come off with the can wrench so it was time to turn to the good old hammer and screwdriver it got messy i couldn't fine royal purple in 20 weight so i had to go straight thirty and i did notice my car smelt perdy like a fresh syn oil change

Anyone get the impression that plastic cover you have to remove to get at the oil filter is on the flimsy side? Since it has snowed here recently I'm concerned about backing in deep snow and ripping that whole panel right off. I can't imagine what that would cost.

Going to attempt my first oil change on the xB. Where is the oil filter located?
