Default Options, Need help choosing, please..

Hey,

My new xB will be here in about 2 weeks. I need some advice on some options.

I chose my options from the ones listed on Scion 08 xB brochure..I know I can buy aftermarket parts, For now,
I want to stick with Toyota OE stuff.

TRD Perfromance shocks, available yet?
TRD Lowering Springs, Good choice? Don't want to lower it to much.
TRD Rear sway bar?
TRD Front Strut Tie bar, available yet, worth the money?
TRD Sport muffler, does it drone, worth the money , any performance benefit?
Subwoofer, is it available yet?
Auto Dimming Mirror (EC), is it available yet?
Grill enhancement?
Overhead console box? Worth it, does it get in the way?

Thanks

I would not recommend buying any of them when you order and take delivery. You can get it all cheaper elsewhere and either install yourself or have someone do it (even the dealer). But the purchase price will be cheaper elsewhere.

Best places for OE options:
www.trdsparks.com
www.mcgeorgeparts.com
www.scionpartspeople.com

Though I don't know how much they have for the xB2 yet... but worth looking.

Can you actually buy the parts and bring it to the dealer for them to install?

Sure... most dealers operate like any garage and will install just about anything you want. Though if you know a local garage that you trust, you might want to compare labor prices. Sometimes the dealer isn't really the cheapest.

The dealer in MN is charging me $15.00 an hr to do installs. He said about 1.5 hrs to install the lowering springs. That's $45.00?? There normal hourly rate for service is $100.00 an hour, they said.

He said to install all the mods I want, which is a long list, is about 10-15 hours. Thats cheap in my book. $225.00?
I couldn't believe how reasonable the dealer was on installation costs.

Since he is so cheap, I was going to let him install all the stuff.

They were cheaper on some parts then what was posted on the Scion website.

That is a cheap install price (if you can get a written quote for it). But you can likely still pay cheaper prices for the actual items elsewhere.

I was there today and talked with the parts/install person. That's what they told me in person today. I thought since they gave me a good deal on some of the parts, that the install price would be high. When she said $15.00 and hour, I thought she was joking, but she said she wasn't. Sales Mgr. confirmed the install price.

I happen to be working in MN for the next few months, Glad I bought my car in MN instead of GA. I saved $750.00 in SET charges for the Southeast region fee plus saved on the mod prices, What a good deal.

So what do you think about the option choices? Good stuff ? With the price I am paying for hourly install, plus they are selling me some of the stuff below retail. I was thinking, I may as well get everything from them .

Can you post prices for each item that is listed? Anybody else get these items installed on their new xB?

These are some of the prices from the dealer:
