Pics and notes at http://www.itsmyscion.com/Geezer/photo/4755/1 Pictures are in reverse order, so to see the correct sequence start at P3 and go backwards.

Hey Geezer, quick question on your pics: the outline is for two big separate areas to cut, but it seems like it all creates one section anyhow. Is there a point to making two separate big areas? The only reason I could think for having the two cuts is to control the padding as you take it out.

My dealership said they didn't want to install it - they don't want to cut into the headliner. They know a person to do it (which makes me wonder then if it's farmed out, if it's covered under the Toyota warranty) but I'm going to see how much he wants to do it for first. I may just end up being forced to do this myself.

That's it exactly. You end up with one big cut-out that extends to the map lights, but do it in two stages. That makes it easier to deal with that big foam block as well as avoid accidentally cutting the wiring for the map lights.

It's not a difficult job. Just take your time and use a sharp knife for cutting the headliner.

Yeah, I was cleaning out my old room at my parents' house just the other day and found an old exacto knife. I thought, "Hey, this would be great if I was putting in the console - but they're putting that in tomorrow. I don't need this!" *tosses exacto knife into tool drawer*

I was just trying to install it to my xB, and those "turn nuts" are really nut, they just keep flipping around until you find the right spot to screw them with the bracket.

It's rediculously easy to install.....takes about 15 minutes if you do it really slow and follow the directions.

maybe I was too careful, took me an hour and a half to finish them all, especially the head liner cutting part.

I installed one of these in my xb not too long ago, Anybody on the fence should go for it. I installed mine myself and it only took about an hour, and that was being very careful. At first it's very scary thinking about cutting the headliner and making a mistake. However it's really very easy and there's "alot" of room for error.

On a sidenote, I actually purchased my console for a different reason than for space. The space is nice, but I wanted my GPS out of sight and out of mind, so I did some small modifications. If anybody wants to check out some pics, just check out this thread:https://www.scionlife.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=174634
