Smile Power LiftGate for the Hatchback?

Hi everyone!

I have looked all over the internet and all I can find is the Electric-Life Power Lift Kit TG-3. Sites claim they are universal, but in terms of a hatchback scion xB I am doubtful. The kit is built for Tonneau or Tailgates for a pickup truck.

I want to find a solution for the hatchback of my xB to automatically open and close preferably with a keychain remote or at the very least have a button to open/close somewhere on the main dash. My disability is making it unsafe to open/close the hatch every time I get my wheelchair in/out of the vehicle (especially if it rains)

The kit I found is about $700, budget-wise i am thinking 2k max. Anything more than that I guess ill be purchasing another car suitable for my needs.

Thanks for reading!

Todd

You could contact one of the manufacturers that make the cars for disabled folks. They may be able to help you out better than anyone on here.
