Question of interest: Embroidery

Question of interest: Embroidery
I received an embroidery machine for my birthday ($$ was actually mine). I was thinking about selling custom embroidered shirts to help recoup some of the cost of my new toy. I'm just posting to see if there is anyone interested in that kind of thing.
I have a program that's supposed to convert pretty much any graphic into an embroidery design. I should be able to do cartoon versions of cars but I haven't tried yet. I think it just depends on how much detail is desired.
Things I've thought of that could be done:
Car specific shirts with Scion logo and XB, XA, XD, or TC logo and possibly a pic of a car
Sponsor graphics to wear to shows
Graphics to match graphics on a custom faceplate (I've never seen it done before)
Get Forcespeed.com on it to rep
Seasonalized scion graphics like below
I'm sure you can think of many more things. I'm not trying to sell anything, yet. I'm just gauging interest to see if it's worth taking the time to pursue.
Thanks!

personally, i'd never wear a shirt with a car make/model printed on it. maybe you could look in to embroidering car seat covers or something you can actually use in the car. xB seat covers with a persons initials or name....think "xB mods"...accessories for the car, not the person driving it.

Not to be a total and utter kill-joy, but, I think you might be getting into some copyright issues here. You might want to check with Scion before you start selling things with their logos and images.
I personally think a small Scion logo on the left side of the chest with the Santa hat would be cool.

I agree with Kiiski. Check with Scion first before you do this. I read something recently about Ford suing a group of Jaguar owners/enthusiasts for doing something very similar to this (I think one of them was making calenders of their rides for the rest of them). Be careful about the legal issue first.
However, if Toyota/Scion allows this, then I do think it might be cool. Maybe a hat with the Scion logo embroidered, or xB, or like averie said, seat covers or something else fo the car itself (headrest covers might be easiest). Of course, if you do something for the car, you could get around the copyright issue because most people would rather not have yet another Scion or xB logo in their car, but rather something more personalized, like their name, or their sponsor's name/logo.

wow.....the cool shirt realy help.
hahahaha.
ive always liked the things you have come up with so far.
ive gotten a few hats done at a local embroidery shop because the guy already had the logo for the local dealer doing some stuff at his shop.
but..... he can't change the size with out charging me more because he would have to redo it = more work.
so id be interested in some nice streach fit hats.

averie,
Thanks for the ideas. You had me looking at my headrests this morning to see how hard they would be to take apart to embroider. They appear to be sewn on so that might be a challenge.
Kiiski,
Thanks! Copyright infringement had crossed my mind briefly but I hadn't thought about it seriously yet. To be on the safe side I went ahead and e-mailed Scion inquiring about permission to use their logo.
dugzillaxb,
I still have to get familiar with the machine and program before I can start making anything. Once I feel confident with it I'll make another post or put something on my Website about it.
clariOn,
Thanks! I'll embroider whatever someone wants. I was just throwing the Scion logo idea around because that's a common theme for people on this site.
swartzautoman,
From what I've learned about the machine so far it doesn't seem like resizing something is an issue. It's just like a graphics program. I can just grab the sizing box and drag it out to whatever size I want. I'm not sure about stitch density though. I think it's supposed to automatically compensate.

chadfo... You peaked my interest. And with the future wide open, start a shop. Hats, tee's, sew-ons, Heck maybe even jackets. I'll bite definitely! Count me in. Minus the jingle hat and arm thingies. Love the Scion emblem and you can customize it with XA,XB1, XB2, Well you got the idea.
