Real-life XB2 fuel consumption
Hi all you lucky owners out there,
What is the real-life fuel consumption that you are seeing out there?
I'm the very proud owner of a 2006 Xb and see 29.5 MPG consistently with mainly city driving.
I would be interested in a 2008 Xb, but it depends on the real-life fuel consumption.
Post up!
Take care,
Siepel

I read on the forums that people are getting anywhere from 22-27 with city driving and around 29 on highway...
But that is just from a few

I think it's a pretty safe bet, that the EPA estimates that come out for 2008 will give you a very good idea of the mileage you'll actually get. They've done a good job making these estimates match reality.
The 22/28 estimate for the xB2 is very close to (in fact, maybe a little below) what I'm actually seeing when I'm not driving with a lead foot. Which is hard to do coming from an xB1... you just want to use the power...
My typical driving area does not include any hills, however. If yours does, you might see a slightly lower result.

Can you post a link to the thread you are referring to? I did a search before posting the new thread, but nothing turned up.

I sure wish people would post actual measured gas mileage instead of the trip computers guesstimates. Too much margin for error in my opinion.
I suspected the only way you could get that mileage for real is sitting in bumper to bumper traffic 80% of the time. When I looked in the other thread you said that was the case.

I've put 32 or so gallons in it since I got it. If you want I can dig out my credit card reciepts and calculate it to the decimel I will. Its safe to say I'm not getting 20.
The average speed calculation on the dash says 18mph.
Previous to this my wife drove an XJ Jeep Cherokee and got close to 10 on the same commute, so I'm not dissatisfied with the milage. I have no doubt the milage will improve at highway speeds or with another driver (sorry Honey).
